Committed to what? Overpaying a mediocre qb and guarantee him a starting job?

Yeah but I wouldn't really want to guarantee him anything. What if he got here in terrible shape or just not as good as what we already have? And this team really isn't winning much even if they did sign him. Personally I think it was a good move to let him walk. We just need to draft a qb and start fresh.
 
how do you know if a team is committed to winning or not? if it decides to call david to be its qb. If I were him I wouldn't want ot play for a team thats calling me either.
 
The article say we were not committed to Gerrard, not committed to winning. I wouldn't have signed him either. He's not the future. Also, article says we contacted him before Henne went down. Let's not spin the facts ok?
 
It's simple he wanted his contract guaranteed because he knows how terrible the OLine is.And he knows the chances are good he won't survive the rest of the season with turnstile Colombo as the RTackle.

What QB would want to play with this Oline?

David Garrard was a good starter back in 2007.

Sage when given a chance has always produced.

I bet Garrard never plays again.
