David Garrard Seeks "Committed" Team

I never liked Garrard... but after reading that article.. I like him even less..

Sage Rosenfels apparently

An actually starting QB not some backup who has gone from team to team.Sage is here just for the money.

I'm not saying Garrard is any good but him turning down this organization says it all.

I was all for signing Garrard back in the summer and this past week. Upon further review, I could care if he joined the team.

As this has gone on there is something strange about the guy.

Look, the Fins suck and maybe he knows house will be cleaned come January (should have been last January) so maybe he does not want to be around it. However, still 31 teams are not ready for him to join the roster. Strange.

"They were not willing to guarantee me the kind of money that reflects a real commitment and what I believe would protect me from being cut twice in one season," Garrard said.

He doesn't want to be another Larry Johnson. Sign, cut, sign, cut. If we cut him it would just damage his reputation further around the league and Ireland has a reputation for doing just that.

David Garrard was a good starter back in 2007.

Sage when given a chance has always produced.

I bet Garrard never plays again.

garrard was GOOD STARTER last year had 24 tds 15 int with a 90 qb rating completed 64 percent of his passes.
hell if a dolphin qb did that we would annoint him as the next coming

Why? I actually believe everything he says in the article, and if you don't believe it you're 'homer'. This organization has flat out become a laughingstock (maybe THE laughingstock) of the league.

It's hard to be fan of this team right now. It's seemingly one embarrassment after another.

Sorry, David, but teams are only "committed" to quarterbacks that are "better".

Well, Oakland is "Commitment to Excellence", maybe he can go there.

We're just "Commitment to Mediocrity or Failboat"

IF he is so good why is he playing as much as I am right now.

we are committed to losing David, you are a perfect fit

"I got cut by a ****ty team, I am the greatest!!!"

Jville cut him for money only, no qb there has even come close to playing at his level and he doesnt just want to sign for the heck of it. Why not wait it out.

Garrard automatically becomes the best qb on this team including Henne. I'm not saying he's an upper tier qb but he's definitely good enough to get us a few extra wins. Do not want. I'm glad he's not coming

IMO the OP is just "funning us" - since anyone "committing" to Gerard is worthy of being "committed themselves. Garrard stunk up the TC/preseason - even he acknowledged there was no surprise since he was essentially "**** on a stick." No reason to guarantee him anything in Jacksonville, and certainly not here.

He's another good example of a late or undrafted round QB like DelHomme, and very possibly Romo, who defied the odds, made good, or good enough if not even having a shining moment or two, and then like a falling comet, plummeted unceremoniously back to the reality pull of earth. No thanks if the commitment he demanded was more than a bag of chips and a light beer.
