Dead Serious: What options do we have next year (At QB)?

Speaking of QB, does anyone know if we put in a claim on Mayfield?

Nothing personal against those that like Tua, but I would have tried to claim him. Was it affordable for us? Oh well, that ship has passed.
Probably didn't put in a claim for him but wouldn't have mattered as Rams had higher priority in the waiver wire.

This is year 1 of a completely new system under a new coach. I get it, we've had coach turnover and had to say this every few years.....but what other option do we have? Give each new coach one year to get to the super bowl? This is the most promising first year I've ever seen and I'm 51, so I choose to not ruin my life over what I can't control bc this is my team and always will be.
Can you imagine Ross telling the new coach: "Get to the Super Bowl or get fu¢ked."

Tua is ok.. Is he real answer no but until we find better qb.. we are going have live w him for now..

The thought of watching Tua FOR AN ENTIRE SEASON next year makes me sick. He's an amazing backup and a hell of a guy and I wish him the best but he has no confidence in himself and he just melted down. He can't win when it matters. He's a poor-man's Kirk Cousins and I'd take Cousins 100 times before I'd take Tua.

What are our options next year? Please walk me off the ledge

Derek Carr? - Is he really an upgrade?
Aaron Rodgers? - I'd give my left nut for a beyond-his-prime Rodgers
Tom Brady? - See above
Jimmy G? - Say what you want, but I'd take him over Tua
Lamar Jackson? - Not a chance Ravens let him walk and we dont have the $$ but it'd be nice to dream
you'd take jimmy g over Tua? Just letting you know, those niners team jimmy has played well have a much better defense than what miami has. Their coaches are better. Their rbs and running game better. Miami have wrs, but not near the talent elsewhere niners have. Jimmy is a qb that needs a loaded team around him. He's less talented, older than tua and just as injury prone. Jimmy is perfect for the jets with a strong defense and run game that don't need much from the qb, just better then mike white and zach wilson.

I believe Tua gets through next season. Maybe a low salary vet for competition but Tua is still young he’s 24 he’s made strides. Obviously needs to make more

Tua won’t be back next year. McDaniel will be coaching for his job next year so he’ll bring in a guy he’s comfortable with in Jimmy G.

The funny thing is , if McDaniel was as advertised, it wouldn’t be as big of deal because we’d be a running team.

It’s easy to get caught up in the disasterous 4th quarter yesterday, but take a step back and look at the season as a whole. Tua will finish with close to 30 TD’s, 10 ints and a 105 QB rating in only 14 games. I count roughly 20 other teams that would take that in a heartbeat. Don’t agree? Just go through each team’s QB situation. And don’t just say it’s because we have two great WR’s. Our offense was garbage when Tua was out. He was very good last week at Buffalo and has still only played in 2 full seasons of games. Oh and for those of you that would rather have Jimmy G, get ready for even more boneheaded plays from him. He’s good for at least 2 a game.

Tua is a choker! All of the great QBs; franchise QBs win in the 4th quarter. If Brady was in the same situation, we win hands down. I watched Brady last night down by 10 in in the 4th with under 10 mins to go. Brady looked like **** all game but he is on another level in the 4th quarter. Same can be said about any of the greats. No team wanted to see Marino, Montana or any of the greats with 2 mins left and only up by 6. Tua threw 3 picks in the 4th and all were on him. All were horrible throws went there were other WRs wide open.

Not hyperbole. The owner spent all of last year trying to get rid of Tua.
And that has McDaniel coaching for his job…how…exactly?

The Contrarian Hyperbole schtick has been your calling card for the better part of the last decade plus here. Death, taxes, Casas’ Hyperbole Circus, all of that. I’m sure you’re a hit at parties.
