Debate for the best CB tandem

And yeah, if I had to pick the best tandem, heck they got 3 guys, I'd go with the Eagles. Nnamdi is better than Revis.

How often have the Jets whooped Miami lately again?

when is the last time Miami "whooped" the Jets? they have won a ton of close games. The largest margin of victory in the series since 2008 has been the jets 8 pt win last year by the way.

I sometimes wonder if people actually watch football. Nnamdi is kind of close, I could see misguided fans thinking he is better but Woodson? Not even in the debate. Woodson makes splashy plays that show up on SC, Revis shuts down the best WRs in the game.

Nah, you just take credit for beating 5-6 dead teams to end 2008 and celebrate your div title before being humiliated in the playoffs.

In 2008 Miami got breaks to win the div and took advantage
In 2009 the Jets got breaks to earn a WC

The differences in the two teams is that once in postseason we proved we belonged while Miami was humiliated and we proved '09 wasn't a fluke w/ a repeat trip tot he title game while Miami hasn't been close to the playoffs in the 2 years since that div title.

sorry I don't see it that way.. if having a horseshoe up your azz and having 2 teams concede games is "earning' the WC.. then if the same 7-7 fins (who did NOT have a recent stretch where they lost 6 of 7 and lost to Atlanta at home in a must win game) had faced Indy and Cinci, we too would have "earned" the WC by your criteria.

Further, if the 09 jest would have played the 08 Ravens, humiliation was likely also. Conversely if the 08 Fins played the 09 dead Bengals in the first playoff game, we too would have advanced onto the second. However, we're not as lucky as the jest, so it's unliikely that the best FG kicker in the league would have missed 3-4 relatively easy attempts facing us.. so we likely would have been 2 and done. However, if that had happened, and we ended up also facing Peyton's Colts (not 10QBR Curtis Painter's), it's as llikely that we'd have been equally humiliated by Manning in a similar 24-0 in 31 minutes scoring spree. Not really much difference IMO, especially considering the jest seasonal wins were against teams cumulatively playing at under a .300 winning percentage at the time they played them.

So stop with "earned" BS as well as padding your wins by 2 gimme games. When it comes to actually "earning" something noteworthy, what I would concede is that the last 2 years of jest teams accomplished a helluva lot more than the Namath illegitimate SB team who had all of a 2 game postseason to "earn" that tainted title..

We faced Indy starters for 2 1/2 qtrs, we faced Cincy starters for a half and we led 27-0 while the starters were in.

The Ravens who hadn't won a playoff game since 2001(when they also beat an overmatched Miami team on Miami's home field) were all of a sudden a juggernaut in 2008. We didn't face the 2008 ravens, we only beat the hottest team in the NFL(a BETTER team than bal) in the div round on their home field.

Kaeding, who has never been a good postseason kicker, missed 2 relatively easy kicks. Do we get that excuse for our kicker missing multiple kicks in the title game?

Miami had a chance to make the playoffs, they lost 2 THREE non playoff teams end 2009.

We earned our WC berth in 2009, we took care of business. Did what we had to do to get in against a tougher sched than the great 2008 Miami Dolphins.

The 09 Chargers were better than 08 Bal? :crazy:nyjunc, you are not following your own rules. SD lost the div round to an average Jets team, while Bal made the AFCC game. Bal faced a 13-3 team in 08 to get to the AFCC game much like the Jets did in 09. The difference is that Tenn was a better team than SD was.

You don't get to use 2 missed field goals excuse when you lose by 13. You can only use that if you lose by 3 like SD did.

you didn't earn your WC berth..the charity was so flagrant the league scheduling division took great pains to ensure that it would never happen again. That's a fact.. as is that Casell won 11 games in a division where there were 3 winning teams vs Brady the next year who only won 10 games in a division with essentially NE being the only legitimate verifiable winning team. You figure it out.

Beyond that, anything you contend is as conjectural as what I do.. and I choose to believe that the very weak 09 team who couldn't even beat Atlanta at home when they needed to, lost 6 out of 7, had a HC who thought they were eliminated from the playoffs and beat teams with a sub .300 cumulative winning percentage at the time they faced them, would have gotten hammered by that same Baltimore team. So we'll have to agree to disagree since we both are certain we're right.

Bengals did have a superb CB tandem in Leon Hall and Jonathon Joseph but they let Joseph slip to the Texans at the last minute. Jets have the best tandem by far. The Falcons do as well, I enjoy watching Grimes play in the secondary.

SD '09 was the best team in football going into the playoffs. They were 13-3 and had won 11 straight, Bal beat 2 playoff bound teams all of 2008 and one was the dolphins.

Ten was better than SD? Sd won 1 staright, Ten was 3-3 to finish the year and the Brett favre led Jets annihilated them at Tennessee.

The game is not black and white, those missed FGs change the game. if he hits the first one we have a 20-6 lead instea dof 17-6, if he hits both we take a 23-13 lead in the 2nd half instead of it being 17-13 and in SD iof he hits the makeable one we don't go into prevent mode up 17-7 late.

In 2007 the Colts rested starters for an entire game which allowed Ten to make it- where was the outrage? ten was one and done proving they didn't belong, we made the title game proving we did belong.

Putting your knowledge up against mine I think it's safe to say I am right again. Keep spouting the jealous nonsense though.

Oh boy, Davis has a higher ceiling? This is all a joke, right? not even the biggest dolphin homer/Jet hater would make such a silly statement.

Don't look now, but Revis has hit that ceiling, he has not gotten any better, if anything 2010 Revis was nowhere as good as 2009 Revis, while 2010 Davis is better then 2009, and Davis even you must see is continuing to get better.

Am I saying Davis is better then Revis. No, but he is getting better, and so far he has had a better preseason. Revis is a top 2 corner, while it would be crazy for me to declare Davis is even a top 10 Corner at this moment, but he is making huge and very quick strides in becoming a better Corner. Last year he was a much better corner then he was in 09, and this year so far in preseason, he has become a very dangerous Corner to throw to.

Davis is still not the type of corner in coverage that Revis is, but he looked really good last year, and with him looking even better this preseason so far, there is good chance he will become even better in coverage. Add to that Davis is better against the run, and is a more devastating hitter then Revis.

If Davis stop taking chances, and starts playing smarter, by the end of this year, you may start hearing both Revis and Davis in the same sentence, and it will not be coming out of the Dolphin's website only.

Delusional is no way to go thru life .. but I guess if it gets you to sleep at night, keep spinning the bull**** that a team that couldn't hold serve on their home court when they needed to, was gifted into the playoffs, faced the weakest playoff team in years, and was humiliated by Peyton Manning 24 to zip in 31 minutes was anything more than a poseur then have at it.. just don't try to peddle that crap anywhere other than to the hopefully gullible gaggle on TGG.

The weakest playoff team in the AFC in recent memory was the 2008 Miami Dolphins who beat ONE playoff bound team- an 8-8 team no less.

You make more weak excuses than anyone I have ever seen.

I know you are high on Revis....oh look at that, He's a Jet too.
And just deal with it...now margin of victory matters....Jets don't beat the phins much lately. Are you the biggest homer ever or what?
