Defense Reigns Supreme

and each one you mention there played hurt.

NE's defense held Tebow to nine completions is suppose to be impressive???? A highschool defense can hold Tebow to 9 completions. You do realize Tebow sucks at throwing the football, I've never seen a worse QB then him. He is a decent runner though, lol!

hmmm you said a a highschool defense can hold Tebow to 9 completions yet the Steelers NFL defense allowed him to throw for 316 yards and 2 TD and rush for 50 and another TD

If the Ravens and the Niners go to the Super Bowl, can we say that you do not NEED an elite QB to get to the Super Bowl?

you a closet Giants fan?

I admit I have a soft spot for the giants since that 07 super bowl. Hey all they do is beat our biggest rivals (buf, NE) in the super bowl, what's not to like?

I still feel like I owe a great deal of gratitude to the Giants for beating the Bills in that Super Bowl. I grew up watching Shula v. Levy and Dan v. Jim. Those Bills teams sent me to bed crying as a child many times.

you would be talking differently if you had tons of friends who were giant fans, if you worked with giant fans, lived amongst them, etc.

Harbaugh vs Harbaugh best defenses of each conference for the super bowl and a brother grudge match, oh man that would be great.

Also intersting to note that three of the four were first round picks, including two that went first overall.

As I did the research on a while back, over 2/3s of QBs picked #1 overall go on to be All Pros, and over 1/3 go on to be Super Bowl MVPs. Alex Smith, considered a #1 overall 'bust' has his team playing in the NFC Championship and was fantastic yesterday. Enough of this "find a gem in the 4th round" BS. Guys like Tom Brady and Kurt Warner are the very, very rare exception.

Any one not giving credit to Eli Manning at this point has to be biased. He's not quite as consistent as the bigger names we all throw out with Brady, Brees or Rogers, but you'd be hard pressed at this point to say there is anyone better in the clutch. While defense definitely remains important, you need a good to great QB to win consistently in this league.

You many want to go back and see the Superbowl winners over the last 20 years. Only QB's that might be deemed fair are Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer whom played in Elite defenses. The other winners had what will likely end up with 8-9 HOF QB's. While a lot of them had better D's, given all rule changes in today's NFL, most of the elite teams can now even win with flat out terrible D's.

Yes and I thought I explained why but you think a team that loses a ton of it's starting players to injury should still play at a high level. Denver runs the ball extremely well but Tebow blows throwing the rock. Play a semi healthy Steelers and they lose 99/100, you certainly don't have to agree with me, I couldn't care less, it's my opinion.

Tebow with no rush and a perfect pocket throws a garbage ball, when he's flushed from the pocket and the coverage breaks down he still throws a garbage ball but sometimes the receiver is so wide open it doesn't matter.

god i'm good...read it right now peeps...there's not a person on this board who knows the nfl the way hoops does...i'm tired of being nice i'm gonna go the wv route...except i'm gonna be really right...ha ha

me myself and i called that upset of green bay today...you don't like that i'm feeling my oats so damn what...i'll make you look like small fries when it comes to this game...bring it on...

the giants even overcame the officials in that one...that referee should be fired for the jennings non fumble call that was horrendous and if you watch the game again take a look at the spot on the ware 3rd down carry the side judge marks that sucker half a yard short and the 15 yard penalty on osi on the late green bay td drive...horrendous

like i said no more mr nice guy you don't like it tough...if you want to know is hoops drinking??? you're damn right i am...and its high damn time i told all you mother ****ers whats up

I do,just like you.. moved to FL recently tho.... but still love the giants like theyre my step-team !!
if i wasnt living in ny anymore, i wouldnt mind the giants winning whatsoever. i just cant take them.

i really hope the 49ers knock them off, but after they just beat the packers, i really cant try to justify why the giants will lose. The only thing san fran has that gb does not is a much better defense and run game, but nowhere near the qb and wr corps that gb possesses.

You're probably right, but I'm 20 minutes from Foxboro which will help you understand my point of view. Everyone I know is a Pats fan and there are really no other fans that are more annoying. You see to a Pats fan 29 maybe 28 teams, on a good day, have no head coach or QB. Nobody we get could ever possibly be any good, and what's worse is they are usually right, blindly mind you. Then there's their ability to always spin the Pats into an underdog somehow, this is actually what annoys me the most. The way the media built up Tebow this past week has Pats fans acting like Brady just out dueled Joe Montana in his prime. Pats fans are acting like Brady really proved he was better than Tebow last night. In reality there wasn't one iota of doubt about that in the first place but now I have to hear it for a week. So yeah, I like Eli Manning and the Giants because of 2007.
