Did Ryan Tannehill appear to you to move better in response to the pass rush today?

I saw improvement. He needs further improvement, but this is a step in the right direction.

You're using the results of a poll asking specifically about yesterday's game to deflect the responsibility of the OL over the course of the season?
You do realize that the number of sacks taken yesterday translates to 33 on the year, which is much closer to the league average of 28.5 than the 44 we've actually taken?

Like I said, if we're right, then perhaps the blame for the inordinate number of sacks is better placed on Tannehill and/or the coaching staff.

So now we are pro rating stats and again, how does that relieve the OL of the responsibility?

Certainly you observed the difference in protection yesterday.

What happened to Tannehill on that last drive? Looked like he started to limp a little bit. Is he OK? I can't find any report on it.

Because again, if we're right, and Tannehill actually did move better yesterday in response to the pass rush, then movement such as that on his part, extrapolated to the season as a whole, would've likely resulted in far fewer sacks.

In other words, the responsibility for the inordinate number of sacks then moves from the offensive line to Tannehill and/or the coaching staff, whichever party (or parties) was responsible for the lack of such movement within and out of the pocket prior to yesterday.

I understand that Shou. But you're pro rating stats when there unequal influences week to week. I don't buy that as a means of adequately laying blame which you seem so eager to do.

I most definitely saw improvement in the pocket and his overall awareness. He stepped up, rolled out, and evaded sacks...He needs time.
He obviously needs to develop that deep ball more but the arrow is pointing up towards the green for him.

People that are bashing him left and right is predictable for this fanbase. It's frustrating seeing him miss throws but its all apart of the growing pains...people forget this is just his third full season as a starting QB

I'd honestly rather have him over RG3 all day.

True, which is why I said "perhaps" above. However, prior to yesterday, Tannehill had been sacked three or fewer times in only three of the 10 games on the year. In other words, what he did yesterday he had done previously in the season only 30% of the time, and his average number of sacks in those games was 2.3. In the other 70% of the games, his average number of sacks was 4.9 (almost 5). The number of sacks yesterday was atypical.

Or maybe the sacks have decreased because Martin has been replaced by McKinnie, Clabo is playing better, Garner has filled in nicely for Pouncey, Incognito has been replaced and Tannehill is growing up. :idk:

Entirely possible.

On the last play...in his defense they were running hail marry routes and he was running sideways. Theres no way he could have set his feet to throw it. Not to mention hes probably pissed off because hes thrown like 3 interceptions on last second heaves.

He got hurt on the play prior where he got hit low...was limping...otherwise he throws another heave up for grabs so the qb throws too many picks crowd would have more ammo...

He did move better out there tho like someone else said, there were a few times wen he could have ran for a first down but stayed n and trew it.

Ozzy rules!!

I'm amazed how easy everyone thinks throwing a ball 50 yards to a moving target is so easy especially when moving or being hit. Now he's getting jumped on for overthrowing a pass. Give me a break people. THis is a very tough thing to do. He threw a pass while being hit over 60 yard on the money but everyone complains about the other 3 throws. Do you watch any other teams play football? How many of these did Griffin hit last night? None and he tried four or five of them. Brady missed three. Be happy that we are now at least throwing them and getting Wallace involved. These long throws help build chemistry as well make defenses have to think about it. Especially the Jets who we have to beat twice.

It's context. Cam Newton missed every deep shot he took on Sunday, and I think Cam newton is a pretty good deep ball thrower overall.

It's fine to demand better of your QB -- and I do -- but let's also keep in mind both his physical limitations and in some cases, the poor play design he's working with.

I totally with you. I want him to hit more of the short to intermediate stuff. Maybe make quicker decisions to run with the ball if the secondary is playing man to man. I just think people and the long ball are getting to damn picky. It is easily the toughest throw in football in a game setting.
