Did the war room really erupt in cheers when GB passed on Henne?

I live in Wisconsin and watched the draft with a bunch of Packer fans. Since the Packers took Brohm one pick before we took Henne, everyone kept giving me sh%#t about them stealing our QB from us. So when I read this I looking all over the internet, but couldnt find anything about it

Good to know they got the guy they wanted ... not matter if i disagreed with it or not.

I trust our new FO more than any fan on this site. I'm happy about our draft.

i actually thought brohm was the best qb in the draft... if he came out last year he might of went ahead of brady quinn.. i dont get it henne should of been ranked ahead of matt ryan too.. all it was, was the "experts" talking up ryan when i can honestly say i did not hear about him before this year.. brohm and henne have played well their whole careers

Im saying they dont see him as a backup longterm.

Its a proven fact you need two QBs to be successful in the NFL. Many ppl are failing to realize this!!! Both guys will get equal chance to develope.

I think they were happy they landed the QB they wanted. Starter or non-starter was definately not on their minds when they drafted Henne.

This is the main reason I didnt want to draft a QB, because their are always fans like this ready to throw the incumbent under the bus. Both Beck and Henne are going to get their chances to develope, and may the best man win.

Starter/Non-Starter shouldnt be an issue right now guys. Straight up we need football players. And we should all hope we have two in Beck and Henne.

I'm sure they wanted their franchise QB by passing on him at #32 with the risk of him not being there at #57 lol

I never said they saw him as a franchise Qb. Neither Beck or Henne were considered franchise qb's as draft picks. Clearly the front office wanted Henne from the beginning and would have picked him at 32 if Merling had not fallen. They took a risk because a top 10 possible player dropped way down. Draft is all about risk. Was Henne a player that if he was selected before us enough to change our our whole draft of course not as neither was Beck or marino at the time they were drafted. Last year our backup plan was Edwards and this year who knows it might have been Brohm or another QB. we clearly liked Henne because thats all you read about up to the draft. The fact of the matter is if they FO liked Beck as much as some like to think they would not have drafted another Qb. Name one other time a team has been enamoured with a second year player yet drafted a Qb high the next year.
Hell KC and Minny have more faith in thier young qb than we do.

Nobody drafts qb's this high two years in a row just to have qb;s.
