I love the Bills lucky played Detriot with no Bush (they hurt him) and no Johnson.
Nothinng about Bills playing without Kyle Williams, Nigel Brahdam, Brooks with the horrific neck injury, Searcy missing most of the game as well.
All on Defense.
Last I checked Kyle Orton and Bills just beat the NFL top defense.

The thing that burns about the Sturgis vs. Carpenter trade off is not that they got rid of Carpenter, but twofold:
1. They spent a draft pick on Sturgis, and
2. He's not especially strong-legged nor overly accurate.
Generally when you spend a draft pick on a kicker you don't count on the opposition having a 50-50 chance of returning kicks. You want a guy that can boot it through the endzone at will and make the pressure kicks, and not struggle w 48-55 yard field goal opportunities -- and have an outside chance at booting a desperation 60 yarder (like Carpenter today).
As it is, the real issue is a wasted draft pick. What Sturgis brings to the table can be done by and UDFA kicker without much problem.

LOL . Typical Bills fan. Doesn't deal with logic only emotion! Williams i will give you is a loss. But to discount the Megatron loss is just foolish and ignorant. You think after 4 weeks Detroit is the best Defense, off of 4 weeks of stats! Have you seen who they played? Giants in week one who were a mess with a new offense, Panthers with a sucking injured Cam Newton and no WR's or RB's, Green Bay who Detroit has Rodgers number like you have ours now and never plays well in Detroit and then the Jets! The Jets! Who were blown out today by the Chargers! Do not hang your hat on that Buffalo beat teh #1 Defense. Even the Geno Smith led Jet offense scored 17 points against that defense. WOW!! Keep riding with Orton and think he is Kelly reincarnated, And Watkins saved Orton a ton with the horrible throws he had in the 2nd half. But to debate the worst field goal kicker probably ever who couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat for Detroit is ridiculous. This week all we'll hear is the Jills will win a championship. I live in Jills country and it is the same every year. By mideason they will look to who will coach next year and the draft. Just stop with this thin skin and go back to the Bills board and enjoy your victory.

It was probably an Aponte decision to get a cheap rookie to replace Carp. Still a horrible decision that burns me all the time. Just like it used to with Mare. I hate financial decisions that get rid of good players.
What do I know though, I actually wanted the FSU kicker the year we drafted Sturgis and I don't even think he's in the league anymore is he?
And f*ck the Lions and their sorry kicker for missing 3 freaking FGs today! I am still stunned and pissed that the Bills stole that one.
I'd say Detroit being without Johnson, Bush, and Joique Bell is a bigger deal than anything the Bills had going wrong for them. That being said, Detroit missed a FG Miami-version of Dan Carpenter style that won the game for the Bills.
Beat NE next week and I'll respect your team.

Yeah, but none of those guys on D are JJ Watt exactly. Surely Detroit without Megatron and Bush is far worse. Forget the stats, Detroit is nowhere near the league's best defence. Buffalo won because Detroit's kicker is awful.

If Jeff Ireland was making the selection, the draft pick was probably going to be wasted in any case.

Except for the fact that Ireland was a stud when it came to drafting rounds 4-7. He sucked in the first 3 rounds but man he could find diamonds later.
