Didn't see this mentioned, but......

Carroll does deserve some props he has been playing decent lately in the absence of Patterson. Yes I said it, suck it haters.

That's what I would do. I've been a fan of Carroll a while. His play has been consistently higher than his reputation around here for a while. He is kinda of like the anti Jimmy Wilson who occasionally makes a play to wow some posters here but is a big liability when on the field.

Clay is signed through 2014. Definitely need to lock him up sooner than later though.

I'll never understand this place as somehow this thread has a 1 star rating? To the OP I totally agree he deserves props for that play and many more that he made in the game and has made this year. He's been a huge surprise, along with Jimmy Wilson stepping up.
 
OP- I had to "watch" the game on satellite radio. They really talked that play up. Maybe didnt give him his due on t.v., but the radio broadcast made it sound like he saved the day from what would have been a HUGE Pitt play.

after the game kevin coyle said carroll was the defensive MVP yesterday. he made some nice plays and really helped in the victory.
 
I have been one of the hardest cridicts on Carroll. Like i hated him last year and early this year. Really disliked him. Called him the worse corner in the league numerous of times . Wanted him cut numerous of times. Never understood why he was in the game.

Now??? I am ready to eat crow, because he has been playing much better this season. Especially in more recent games. Seems like he is coming around and living up to his talent level. I would like to see him resigned. He has been pretty good for us this season and i wouldnt mind seeing him come back next year. And this is coming from somebody who hated him as a football player.

No way... Brent Grimes. He held Brown to only 4 catches 34 yards when he was matched up with him. Might have been 3 catches.. i dont remember if that 4th catch was on him or not. I have a thread on it. Carroll had a good game though.

Carroll has started 9 or 10 games this season and we as a team have only given up 2 0r 3 tds to wrs going into that game. I don't know what else you can ask for out of the cb position. We are not going have pro bowlers at every position on the field.

Thanks man. Im not afraid to admit when i was wrong. I think most people here felt the same way about Carroll as well. But he has really turned things around and something clicked with him. Im loving this team a lot man, and the coaching staff too. Even like Ireland to a degree. This coaching staff seems really good with developing players. Carroll is proof of that, along with Clay, Jones, Matthews, Odrick, Wilson etc.

And Ireland seems to be good at finding those diamonds in the roughs later in the draft to allow the coaching staff to develop. Just hoping Jordan is ready to be a beast next year and hopefully Egnew lives up to his potential. If that happens , then our team is going to be much improved next season.
