Dion Jordan chatter

Dion Jordan is already at 260-265 based on what I have read from last season.

This sounds to me like Marvez planting seeds. Seeds of untruth. They will not grow unless Philly offers something outrageus.

From about 6 weeks ago:

“I need to get stronger, and I’ve got to add to my repertoire,” he said in a private moment recently. “I’m a speed rusher. I have to find a way to get around the edge. This offseason, I need to get much better. And I’ve got to get better with my understanding of the game.”

After producing just two sacks, Jordan has devised a multi-pronged offseason plan to try to become the player the Dolphins expect. That includes:

### Adding a third pass rush move. He already has a speed move and an up-and-under move, according to defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers. But Rodgers said he needs a “long arm move. Jason Taylor had that.”

Jordan agrees. He plans to meet with Taylor and add elements from JT's game. “I want to pick his brain,” Jordan said. “Watching his film is a project for me this offseason. I’ve got to continue to develop moves.”

Agreed. Wasn't it sometime after the Super Bowl that Jordan said he knows he needs to work harder, etc...?

This is yet another example of a media putz trying to create controversy & a possible story.

I remember Dion saying that, but to be honest that doesn't really make him look like a hard worker. Kind of the opposite. It really backs up what Marvez is saying. Dion didn't exhibit a great work ethic his rookie season. Hopefully that changes.

I love Jordan's potential but if philly gives me their 1st and 3rd I think I would say yes to that deal. The dolphins need players really bad.

So he talks a good game but his actions are silent. Why hasn't he met with JT yet? He said he was going to and he hasn't even made contact.

I don't get this line of reasoning! Why would anyone offer more than a 2nd round pick for someone like D.Jordan? Especially, when he didn't take the league by storm during his rookie campaign?

We, including Marvez have NO IDEA what's going on. But for you to take it and try and morph it into something more is just as irresponsible. Congrats!
dafalse55 might be a more appropriate moniker!

Irresponsible? It's a legit question. Season ended 3 months ago...most players are already back in the building working out. Jason Taylor has extended himself a number of times, I've heard him on the radio several times say Jordan is welcome to contact him any time, and still nothing. If it was me I would have contacted Jason Taylor the minute I could, if for nothing else but to say thank you for the offer and I'll take you up on it at some point.

Tannehill has contacted Dan Marino when Marino extended himself. What makes Jordan different? If Jordan doesn't work on his game it will come to light pretty quickly. You can't hide behind your athleticism in this league and Jordan is more athlete than football player right now anyway. I really don't care if he doesn't have a great work ethic...it just means we'll be moving on from him sooner rather than later. At least Ireland got the off-set language in his contract...the only thing he did right.

Dion himself said after the season that he needed to work harder. Do we need any more proof than that that maybe his work ethic wasn't up to snuff his rookie season? Doesn't mean he can't change, but it also means Marvez wasn't exactly wrong.

I dont want to get rid of him but if we aren't going to use him correctly netting their #22 and their 3rd would be hard to pass up on considering how deep this draft is.

Either use him RIGHT or trade him while u can get something

He should be an OLB in our D. He would ball it up. One of the achilles heels in our D has been covering TEs. Jordan did very well last year the times he did. The kid can run, tackle, cover, and is developing his pass rush. I know 6'6" is an unorthodox size for an OLB in a 4-3, but Jordan can move very well in space and has incredible speed.

if he can't add weight 43 de will never work...he's a 34 olb...stupid dolphins scouts

I agree he just seems so much better suited to 3-4. I don't think he will ever be a special player but as a 3-4 player I think he will be more than servicable

FYI, Philly has two 5th rounders, #150 and #157

I highly doubt any of it... Jordan isn't going anywhere.

If we really did have any intention of trading him it would be odd to have anyone in the org leaked stuff about his character. Just hurts us.

Though I guess Marvez and Co. got the no JT call from asking JT.
