As of this year, Jordan has $10M due from his guaranteed signing bonus. We would have to take that cap hit. We would save 3 years in his salary (not guaranteed) by trade or cut. He gets around $1M this year, 41.6 next year, and $2.6M the year after. It would be a HUGE blow to our carry over cap space.
Next year, the bonus guarantee comes down to $6.7M, and with what we will save in salary and roster bonus, we would take roughly a $1M hit. This is when it becomes feasible to make a move.
No idea how Jordan will come out of rehab but, he will have a half a year to prove if he belongs in the NFL for our team or another. All we can do is sit, wait, and hope for the best.
Former Phin Keith Sims said on Finsider that he has all the talent in the world but is a 22 year old millionaire who has not been surrounded by the right people, and needs to say no to them and get his career back in order. I recall his comment going into the suspension, saying that he had not made any arrangement to work out, and did not want to sit around by himself. For me, that was saying that he needed help.
