Disturbing Words from Ricky

IMHO, your words are far more disturbing.

Speechifying?
Oh...you meant "said."

RICKY SPEAKS

This week's Ricky Williams speechifying featured this comment on what he would consider satisfactory accomplishments this season:

''I'm not here to accomplish anything. That way I can look back, I can look at the process and see how much I had a chance to grow. Because no matter what you go through in life, whether you have success or not, you still are going to grow as a person. That's what is most important.

Asked what his ideal playing weight would be, Williams said:

''It's just a number. To have a number to say what I play at is kind of ridiculous.''

This guy is trying to kick to much knowledge. The Im not here to accomplish anything statement is kind of scary. I feel him about the growth and whatnot....but he seems to not be setting goals or have some kind of end result....That to me sounds pragmatic.

He's here. That's all that matters and the fact that he's getting paid the league minimum right now. Expect more of the same from him. He's just talking Yoga philosophy right now but that doesn't mean that the 8.6 mil that the Dolphins have over his head isn't influencing his decision making. hehe.

Don't read to much into it, all Ricky is doing is downplaying all the hype, which is probably extremely wise considering everything that has transpired, being humble is probably what Saban advised him to be.

the way I see it, Ricky is trying his hardest to convince us that his new found philosophies are being applied to his profession. The only problem with that is that when he straps up he is going to be the same ol' Ricky.
Ground And Pound!! Watch the tapes, he is running well

You know,Ricky maybe a flake, but I'll take what he says better
than some of that garbage that T.O. or Randy Moss spews out.

These types of statements are a result of his holistic medicinal training and his what seems to be a newfound belief in the was of the East...Live for today, don't look back, you have to look ahead to grow, etc...so I don't worry about those things...however, the fact remains that he is apt to bolt at any time from here on out...that is why I am a proponent of us trading him after this season...

Don't listen to what ricky says. He's a nutcase, he will always say weird things but as long as he can carry the rock who cares.

These threads are getting to be a little much; mostly because I find myself writing the same thing.

Ricky is immersed in the eastern religions and philosophies. They are very similiar to what Saban is looking to instill. Don't be suprised if Ricky becomes a leader this year. Western minds tend to have difficulty understanding eastern philosophies. The western philosophy is how much, need more, gatta be better; always looking to the future and letting the present pass you by, or focusing on the past. Saban and Ricky both speak about living in the now. Perform well today and tommorow will take care of itself. You don't know what will happen tommorrow but you can control today and if you make the best out of today, tommorrow will take care of itself. You enjoy life much more and lose the materialistic gains.

I could talk about this all day long. I love the subject, but its funny to see how many people wrongly interpret his comments due to misunderstanding. And listen to Saban, he is a little more elaborate, but very similiar philosophies.:)

Can he still rush for 1500 yards or more? That's what I want to know.

What is the big deal

Ricky talking about focusing on the process. This is what saban has been saying to us for months now. He is purely focused on the process and everything will take care of itself. It is an example of how ricky has totally bought in to what saban is saying, and secondarily how ricky and saban think somewhat alike.

Get off rickys back already. GEEZ

Ricky is required to answer every question in Buddist negative perogative or he'll lose his Yoga license.

Keep trying to make sense of what Ricky says off the field and you'll end up in a mental hospital. Now what he's doing on the field makes a whole lot of sense to me and always has. That's all that matters right now. Ricky is a gamer.

who the hell cares as long as he is getting 5-6 yds a pop.
