Do not resign Tua

how many points did the offense score this week? and last week? or against the Chiefs? or the Eagles? or against the Bills? ... It's a common theme my friend. I don't know why people turn a blind eye to these facts
Same reason people turn a blind eye to the fact that we are playing with a non true center starting for us, 2 back up guards and missing Waddle and Mostert. The defensive gamelan was awful today and put the offense in a bad situation. We can't throw every down with this line when the defense knows what's coming. BTW, we scored enough the previous 2 weeks to win. But, I mean, obviously every other team is putting up 40+ a week, so it has to be our QB right???

I didn't read whole thread. Just was wondering who was going to replace Tua? I'm old and this point in my life I have limited time
Not ideal, i get it: But Kirk or Russ, both have had success. Despite what people may tell you, Russ has played well this year. Payton is just a moron and has lost his ability to coach a team.

With Tua, its the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

I support Tua and hope he’s our QB going forward. But I’m watching Jake ****ing Browning do things against the Chiefs that Tua can no longer do. And it makes me sad.

Bills defense is decimated, Ravens D was decimated, Browns lost the best back in the league early in the season and their QB, signed a guy off the streets, Chiefs have the worst receivers group in the league,.. Good QBs can overcome their teams deficiencies. Tua needs it all to be perfect.. which is fine when it is perfect but its the nfl, it rarely is for any team

I agree. it ****ing sucks.

I would not resign him. He has not done sht on rookie contract.
Id draft another QB. It's cheaper.

I'm thinking we let him play out this contract, and find out if this is all there is.

He has grown this year, he can do some things that are impressive and some things are show limitations. Right now, it seems kinda like Brock Purdy to me. Which is not terrible to have, the cost balance needs to be accounted for in any calculation.

But that being said the real issue is the injuries. Every player has gotten hurt this year, first I change my strength and conditioning coach. Second we need to review how badly we are crippled for 2024 example Phillip/Chubb are not going to be the players they were for at least a year after.

Exactly, and none of those teams listed are perfect. It sucks to lose a game like this, but keep things in perspective. This team has won a lot more games than it's lost with Tua at QB.

I would suggest signing Browning who has outplayed Burrow for competition with Tua but he is an ERFA and no way the Bengals don’t tender him.

Too bad for Browning because he has outplayed the minimum contract he’ll be given again next year.

Struggled? He had zero elite receiver and his stats were 3,000 yards 26 TDs and 8 INTs. His career QBR is 100 (exactly)... Oh and he's actually mobile with the best deep ball in the game
3000 yards in 15 games is not good. he throws for 200 yards a game.

Tua has brought his team to the playoffs in back-to-back years with a compete offence. Almost made the playoffs with a joke of an offense 3 years ago.

Im not saying don't upgrade from Tua if you can but this game, he had 2 Tds dropped and a Defense that gave up 50. The rush b4 the 2 min warning was idiotic. not sure if that's Tua or McDaniel to blame.

I rather be open to drafting another QB if 1 they like falls to them.

This offensive system is EXTREMELY QB friendly. It does require a cerebral QB however. McDaniel has turned an average, immobile QB from an average, meh guy to a top 10 QB. Imagine what he can do with an actual good QB who ya know, can stand in the pocket for longer than 2.5 seconds.

Imagine having an NFL QB who cannot get hit. WTF? Allen/Hurts/LJ/Mahomes/Burrow are monsters. They can extend plays and put their teams on their backs. Oh and their fans dont cringe when they get tackled (well Burrow maybe ;) )

Tua is what he will always be.. He cannot get hit, he needs to get the ball out in under 2.5 seconds, he cannot escape with his legs, he lacks any mobility, he cannot extend plays, he absolutely shits the bed against top teams. Someone look it up, his record against winning teams is something like 3-12

Sign Russ or Kirk who has balled in the playoffs

If you're a fan of Tua, that's awesome.. Just know, he is not capable of LEADING this team to a super bowl. He needs an opportunistic defense and almost perfect OL play.

The quicker we rip the bandaid off, the better it will be in the long run
You’re not wrong at all but you’re going to get killed for saying this.

Honestly bro we really don’t have a choice but to keep him. We’re cap strung and don’t have the draft ammo to get another one that’s even on Tuas level.

We’re stuck bro.

Agreed. we should be running it more but I think McDaniel loves Tua and wants to show him off. Unfortunately, he better realize he cant trust Tua in the big games

This has nothing to do with any of our issues. Thats a nothing burger.

Better question is can he trust himself in big games? Hes been severely outcoached in every single one of them. **** game planning, lack of adjustments, and clueless play calling.

The moron called a fade to Julian Hill on a 2pt conversion FFS. An undrafted blocking TE.
