Do not resign Tua

Noone remembers the super bowl losers anyway , well except when you lose 4 in a row

Not resigning Tua would be monumentally stupid. Maybe he is good enough to win it all, maybe he isn’t. Marino never did.

Either way, it took us 20 years to find a QB as good as Tua. I’m not going back to Chad Henne and Sage Rosenfels. Give me 10 more years of finding out what Tua’s ceiling is.

He is doing things not seen in these parts since Don Shula and Jimmie Johnson were coaches

And you care about Belly fat when the kid who couldn’t play a full season is just about to complete his full season in the NFL

The body is a work in progress I am sure Nick gets it better than any of us
that’s a testament to his talent not his physique, he’s carrying needless weight imo you can believe what you want but he’s not physically at his best, and yes it is a process to transform that much extra fat

I think I will take Nicks opinion before anyone on this site

His problem isn’t fat, his problem is that he’s undersized and not particularly athletic and moves in slow motion. That’s a bad combination when you’re getting hit by 300 pound men who run 4.5 40s.

well then you can obviously see the overweight Tua

So tell me what’s the philosophy behind it?

More cushion??

It’s a ****ing joke and was the wrong strategy for this player especially considering the players physical makeup going in.

Ftr, I have extensive strength and conditioning experience in the field and so called professionals make mistakes all the time Mis reading the physique relative to what your trying to do from a performance standpoint.

This player being this overweight at the position is preposterous

And perhaps it’s not Hicks fault and Tua since the off-season had gradually put on weight not being focused on his diet and training.

Someone needs to get to the bottom of it and not brush it aside that it isn’t a big deal, the guy can’t even run to escape pressure with any effectiveness because he’s carrying so much weight, that’s a major problem

I'll take his top 5 pro bowl status

That’s only a problem when you have a Swiss cheese line. Peyton Manning/Tom Brady/Dan Marino all seemed to make it work. Not to mention I really don’t think it’s as big of an a he can’t as it is that he won’t. I’m fairly certain Tua was told live to fight another day after last year. I fully expect come playoff time a little extra movement and attempt to escape but in terms of trying to avoid a sack in a week 7 game when we are 5-2 is just pointless. A healthy Tua is far more important that scrambling for a 1st in the regular season.

Things will improve once we stop giving up 56 and 48 points in games against good teams.

I will, too. He’s the best QB we’ve had in 20 years, and I don’t want to move on from him now or any time soon. I’m just commenting on his physical limitations. They’re not really about his conditioning.

I understand that
