Do you guys remember Tom Brady's rookie year?

It just goes to prove that coaching is very important to the success of a team. You can forget about it with this conservative coach who is slow to adjust and hesitant to change.

hhhhmmmmmmmm.....

Sounds like...

also don't forget Belichick was HORRIBLE in Cleveland, the fans wanted him dead for years.

Hmmmm.

Man you guys are trully finding light in utter darkness. We shall see.

I am here shaking my head at what some of the responses are to this thread.....

Nobody compared AJ to Brady. Jesus H. Christ.....this board needs a win more desperately than the Dolphins do.

Brady is a "good" QB, not great like people claim him to be.

He's in a GREAT scheme over there in NE.

What more can the guy do ? He took over from Bledsoe and hasn't looked back since, winning a couple SB's in the process..Add all that to the fact he's still young, had mediocre talent surrounding him during those SB runs (A.Smith starting HB, patched up O-Line and apart from T.Brown, mediocre WR's, David Givens doesn't cut it for me)
If he's not great I don't know what he is ?
Unless he pulls a Warner, he'll be in the Hall with Peyton in 10 years...

Brady was killed by the Dolphins his rookie year. I didn't think that team was any good at all. They ended up going to the Super Bowl. Let's give everyone a few more games (except W.Smith) to pull their heads out of their rear ends. Feeley will be an awesome qb with a little time.

You mean the game where A. Smith ran for a carrer best 152 yards. Brady threw 2 td passes and no inteceptions and Lamar smith coughed up the ball on the 3 yard line? I wonder what Steve Goldstein said after the Pats locked up a playoff bearth in that game. Oh you mean the first game.... right.... remember this-- (this is good advice, momma done told me) Its not how you start the season, its how you Phinish.

Just don't give up halfway through:) .

He was getting killed...including a disastrous performance against the Dolphins.....Then something clicked in Charlie Weis's mind....He started calling max protect plays with 2 and three guys in the pattern and allowed Brady to complete "playground" type routes.......

That NE line absolutely sucked at that point and it slowly got better as they improved their passing game...

Are you listening Chris Foerester?

I agree to an extent. This entire offense has to build up its confidence.

That game against Miami in 2001 was Tom Brady's worst game as a pro. I believe it was his first start. After that game the Pats were 1-3. Then were 5-5 after 10 games, and then didn't lose another game the rest of the year, through the Super Bowl.

His rookie year (2000), he was 4th string as a 6th round pick. The following TC, Belichick promoted him to 2nd string over Damon Huard. No one could understand it, but Belichick knew he had something special. Then the Mo Lewis hit on Bledsoe, and the rest if history.

In his 48 starts, I have a hard time thinking of 3 or 4 bad games he's had.

Feeley deserves the full season to develop and show what he has. You will know by the end of the year whether you have your franchise QB IMO.

Yes he was.. Tom Brady didn't throw a single interception for his first 163 pass attempts. It wasen't untill 3 games latter, in the fourth quater against the Broncos in Denver that he gave up his first INT. After that, he put it behind him and started again. And of course, remember he went on to win the Superbowl his rookie year.
But I think the point trying to be made here is that you can't loose faith. Even when things aren't going your way.

Damn, shouldn't a Pats fan know that the year Brady won the Superbowl was NOT his rookie year? He was 3rd string his rookie year.
