Do you want to know what is Insulting? (I am pissed off)

And if he retired one year later he would have gone in with Aikman. Or if he retired one year earlier he would have gone in with Elway. Hey, it was bound to happen.

Jim Brown didn't win a Super bowl either, and he was definitely the best RB of all time. I don't care how many yards or rings Emmitt gets.

THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE SUPER BOWL WHEN JIM BROWN PLAYED!!!!! :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno:

What is insulting is that Steve Young will be inducted on the same day as Dan Marino.

What is insulting is that every single commentator this week (the week of Marino's induction) on ESPN has taken to ranking Marino below the top five alltime.

What is insulting is that a rag arm skinny luckbox piece of crap like Joe Montana even gets mentioned in the same breath.

What is insulting is that they equate Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Ricky Watters, Roger Craig, and Terrell Owens to Kareem Abdul jabbar, Sammy Smith, Irving Fryar, Bobby Ingram, and Tony Martin.

What is insulting is that they say that HE is somehow responsible for not winning a championship.

What is insulting is that a guy that was a run of the mill pro bowl quarterback....vaults to THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME because he has a runningback run for 5 million yards a game.

And in closing....When he is inducted he should pass by Montana's and Young's bust and spit on them.

Screw Montana, Screw Young, Screw Elway and while you are at it....Screw Brady and Manning too.

Dan Marino was the greatest quarterback of all-time and if you disagree......screw you.

There...I feel better.

Screw them! It doesnt matter what they say, it doesnt matter what they do, any fin fan can tell you, Marino's the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.

If you want somewhat impartial coverage, watch NFL Network. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did. :D

I don't know about that, their coverage of the Dolphins is less than flattering, it's almost non-existant. If it hadn't been for Ricky returning, I don't even think they would have mentioned us this year so far.

:yell: Another argument im so sick of hearing is that Marino wouldnt run the ball. But guess what IF IT WAS MARINO'S FAULT THAT THEY DIDNT RUN THAN WHY DIDNT ANY OF THE RUNNINGBACKS THAT PLAYED WITH HIM GO ON TO SUCCEED SOMEWHERE ELSE. I'll tell you why CAUSE THEY ALL FUKIN SUCKED A$$ THATS WHY. DAN IS THE MAN THE BEST EVER AND THE MOST EXCITING TO WATCH ANYONE WHO THINKS DIFFERENT TAKE YOUR BLINDERS OFF AND RECOGNIZE THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:fire: :fire: :fire:

You never seem to disappoint.

I agree with a lot of what you said and let's not forget either that the same things were being said about Elway. Remember all the Super Bowls he lost UNTIL he got that 5-million-yard a game running game? It's silly to stick that label on Marino.

Then they say. "Well Marino would not have let Shula do that (run that much)." Bull****!! Either they don't know Shula or don't know Marino. :fire:

One quick way to settle it. Let's just do a mental situation switch with any other QB. If Dan was running Walsh's system, BOOM Superbowl rings. If he had Terrel Davis, BOOM rings, (growing up in NM I watched Johnny overthrow miss more open guys in Denver than I could keep track off) if you switched Dan and intentional grounding boy Brady, Marino has a handfull of rings and Brady is being replaced this year by Gus Ferrote (Watch what happens to Brady this year boys).
Marino was right there with Montana, and Fouts and Unitas as one of the top EVER.
Media bias is what it is :fire: , but lets not forget that it helps fuel the Phin loyalty

no credible football commentator can ever say marino wasn't top 5 and that marino wasn't alot better than the overrated Steve Young.

I can take anybody arguing that Elway was better....I can even take...(but I would disagree) that you may say that Montana was better.....

But for some reason...this has been the .."Let's bag on Marino week."

I don't get it.....did he sleep with these guys wives?

Here is the list...let's name names...

Woody Paige, Sean Salsbury, Bill Plaschke, Andre Adande, Skip Bayless, Jay Mariotti, Tim Calishaw, Trey Wingo, Michael Wilbon, Mark Schlereth...

Come to think of it...did ESPN have anybody argue for Marino as a top five QB all week?

Maybe it has to do with Marino turning ESPN's studio show down when he was offered the HBO gig....

Lets be objective...Marino played on some crappy teams that were 9-7 / 8-8 JUST BECAUSE of Marino....He was the closest thing to Michael Jordan that the NFL has ever had.

You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time. We are not fooled now nor will we ever be. That other guy was good. Marino was the best that ever was. No-one will EVER be able to come close - No one EVER! It was everything that makes him that. Mostly his ability and his desire and knowledge of the game, but also his unbelievable character, generosity, integrity and ability to pull our beloved Dolphin out of a million different holes. No-one can touch that combination. Lawrence Taylor was in Dan's league talent wise, so is Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Wayne Gretzgy, Magic Johnson - what all of these guys have in common is their incredible ability made everybody else around them play so much better. And as much as I love these other elite athletes none has been able to have the full package Marino has. G-d bless him and his family in this glorious moment in his storied life!

Agreed. It is a disgrace. I was listening to Dierdorf on the radio yesterday(I often do not agree with anything that comes out of his mouth), but I have to give him props for what he said. He said that it is absolutely rediculous not to put Marino as one of the best QB's of all time. He stated that unlike basketball and baseball, where 2-3 great players can get you a championship, football is a TEAM sport and if the team is not up to par, there can be no championship. I agree wholeheartedly with this.

Put Elway, Montana and young on Marino's Dolphins and guess what.....NO CHAMPIONSHIPS! Put Marino on those 9ers teams and those Bronco teams and guess what.....MANY CHAMPIONSHIPS. It's no coincidence that Elway won his first SB handing off to Terell Davis.

agreed....and here's a little proof that the great San Fransisco teams of the 80s weren't playing by the same rools as everyone else.

I have a feeling that Young wasn't the only guy acquired in that manner, especially after everything came out about how D'Bartolo had cercomvented the salary cap so badly for so long that they made him get out of the busisness.

Denver was the same way when, what was it, last year it all came out that the SuperBowl teams in Denver had also rigged there roster to go way beyond the cap threshhold.
