Does anyone get the feeling that the GM search was a ruse?

That we went through this charade to only wind up with the in-house guy, Gaine? Gaine, with his ties to Parcells, makes me less than happy if he was the choice all along. This organization is a joke. It has now been 30+ days and counting that we have not made a hire. If it comes out that this was just to give the appearance that they were doing everything to make sure they got right guy... Sheesh, how far the the team and the ownership has fallen.

I think your right, whenever guys refuse a second interview it means one of two things, either after the first interview he felt Davie was more crazy than what goes on in Cleveland or he felt he was being used and the search committee already had the guy they wanted and was going through the motions and making the search look broader than it was....

If it's him let's see what he can do. I've been jaded regardless. We have seen the best money can buy, the brilliant upstarts, and the guys who came up the right way all flop in Miami. I don't have any illusions about a perfect guy.

You biting off my theory bro? haha jk, I do think it could be and have stated my theory of a dog n pony show a few days ago. Although the more I think about it, the more I have no confidence Ross could conceive such a plan. It's more than likely pure bafoonery

I have been saying that since this whole "search" started.

we are to inept to pull off a ruse..lol.

The firing of the GM was a good but overdue move by Stephen Ross. Unfortunately he followed that up with a bad move by keeping that individual he hired from Green Bay ( I won't call him a Coach because he isn't one). Now we have GM Candidates who do not want the job. I have said this SEVERAL TIMES over the past few months, and so have a lot of readers on this site. NO General Manager worth anything is going to take this job knowing he can not bring in his own HC. No GM is going to want to answer to the likes of Dawn Aponte who knows nothing about the game of Football. Let's not kid ourselves, Ross came out in his press conference and said the GM will report to him only. I do not believe him and apparently neither do the GM candidates. It's a little bit hard to be in constant communication with your owner when you are in South Florida and he is always in New York. Forget all that skyping and Video conferencing crap. With Ross being an absentee owner, that GM knows eventually he is going to start answering to Aponte and he also knows Failbin is garbage. That GM does not want this mess under his watch. Now come on people, if Gaine gets the job, then why did Ross waste so many people's time bringing in all these guys? And wouldn't Fritz Pollard Alliance's concerns come to fruition?

Looking more and more like a dog and pony show. Ross truly believes that he is so much smarter than the "common man" that he can manipulate fans believe anything he wants them to.

Ross repeatedly mispronounced a candidate's name in the interviews? Now that's funny.

It's downright hilarious. I wonder what the others in the room thought when this happened. Probably had to fight back the laughter. Who was the candidate? Lake, in one of his earlier interviews?

I can see it as a definite scenario.....Gaine being Ross and Aponte's choice, knowing that they would have to sell Dolphin nation on it by a broad search that proclaims him the winner. Also satisfies the minority hiring requirement.

I hope its not true however.......but the reaction and rejection of our process by many tells me the league is well aware of what is happening.

Hickey for example...was not even seriously considered by Tampa, and yet he is a finalist here?

Something definitely smells fishy!(no pun intended)

It sucks that the Miami Dolphins have gone from a once proud franchise that was in playoff contention year in and year out. To a dysfunctional real time example of how to not run a football team. Its only a matter of time before we are picking at the top of the draft again.

If Ross had just cleaned house when he fired Sparano, they wouldn't be in this mess now. The past two seasons have been a waste, and now it's almost certain that next year will be the same.
