Does anyone sense the fear

Preseason doesn't earn anyone respect. Why should anyone fear the dolphins at this point?

Look closer, I never said "fear".
I do think some amount of respect can be earned in preseaon if the 1st team can establish some type of running game. I still don't expect anyone to be scared, I just think we could avoid the laughter.

I sense the need to set the precedent that we will suck again by these people. I say let it be............I say let them think whatever they want and have a false sense of security.

I`d rather have all them secure about the fact that we`ll suck. This way it doesn`t put pressure on us. If we have an .500 season that`s ok, we`re not projected to be a contender this year anyway.. though if we start winning, than the fear will be abrupt and sweet..

We dont Deserve a primetime game if we had one it would have been a gift...I dont think its "fear" in the rest of the afc but probably some dissapointment because im sure after last year they where marking off 2 easy wins this year against the fins...im pretty sure most of the fans that have some knowledge are rethinking that now....to say the least.

Could you show us some proof that other fans actually said this word for word in the main forum? Seems to me your TWISTING words or taking it out of context.
Saban has yet to prove himself and yes, it's fair to say he's been hyped like Spurrier.

I have yet to see someone say Brown is bad, but yes he has yet to prove himself.

PS. Smack forum doesn't count.

Granted, some Dolphin fans will inevitably get carried away with what has been by most appraisals a fine offseason, I'm keeping my expectations in check.

As far as comparing Saban to Spurrier, that is just completely wrong. If you want to say Saban hasn't proven anything yet as a head coach in this league because he is 0-0, thats fine. But the comparison really ends there, Saban was successful in this league as a coordinator, Spurrier was not.

Saban comes in with proven philosophies and experience at the NFL level, Spurrier came in with a gimmicky offense that many including myself doubted would fly in this league.

You can say he's being overhyped if you want, until his teams succeed it won't be disproven, but, what many see, including many that have been very successful in this league, is a guy with a great eye for talent, a guy who is very cool and confident who knows exactly what he is building and has a blueprint. A guy who has the personality to lead and make his players believe in him.

He's also a guy that has succeeded at every job he has had, and had no less than Bill Belichek(winner of 3 out of the last 4 Superbowls) publically state that he learned more from Nick about football than Nick ever learned from him.

I've stated a few times both here and BZ that Saban will be a good HC. In comparison to Surrier, I stated it's all "hype" until proven otherwise.

What do you expect BB to say about his buddy? You all remember how the Colts praised Foerster? How did he turn out? If his past success translates automatically to instant success (you're not one who would do so ,but there are homers here who do) then let's take a lot at the one who was a huge help in molding BB into the coach that he is today, Bill Parcells.

His past SB's hasn't help him so far with the cowboys in a very weak division, has it? Anyone here think Saban is more of a proven coach than Parcells?

Once again, I doubt Saban will end up like Davis or Spurrier but the guy is not perfect and won't be exempt from failure every now and then. If Parcells if fallible, so is Saban. The sky's the limit w/ Saban's "potential". Just like Parcells' they are not the one's who play on gameday.

Saban is hungry, the Tuna is not!!!! That makes a huge difference. One man is starting the journey, the other is hanging on.

I dont think anyone here is trying to say Saban is infallable but saying "he is just like Spurrier" is ignorant.

HUGE things were expected from Spurrier, he was supposed to be a big time coach and he was a better college coach than Saban but SS fell flat on his face. I'm not saying Saban will fail like SS but few people expected SS to fail to.

Many people expected SS to fail. He did not have any pro level experience.
