Does anyone sense the fear

Many people expected SS to fail. He did not have any pro level experience.

saban has pro experience as a failed DC in Cleveland, is that a big deal? People WANTED Spurrier to fail but most thought he would do a good job and after his 1st year the expectations were sky high.

here we go again... what exactly is it about going from last in team D to top 5 in four years that makes him "failed"

He had 1 good year there. In Points allowed they were 28th when they came in and his last year there they were 20th in points allowed. That's not that great of leap in 5 years,

Cleve's D's were ranked:

14
10
17
1
20

Not exactly a great resume in 5 years.

28th to first in four years would be "pretty good" Im not up on my Bill Bellicheck history im not sure what happened the last year. you dont make it first in ANY year by sucking or a fluke. and its a whole lot more than Spurrier did before he entered the nfl as a head coach.. what had he done on the nfl level....hmmm let me see...nothing.

I have been seeing lots of AFC east guys jumping our site the last couple days to say how bad it will be that ricky is coming back to the phins, man i am think fear is starting to set in that these teams may have to defend two not one big, fast physical running backs. Can you hear the knees of the jets bills and pats fans starting to knock, knock knock :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno:

You've got to be joking.

I wonder what kind of shape Ricky Williams is in??

Was he there for that 5th year when they went back to 20? or had he gone to MSU, b/c if he was gone then I withdraw my criticism but if he was still there falling 19 spots back to 20 is on him.

I take back my criticism, he was successful leaving Cle #1, he took over MSU in '95 then they fell to 20.

Greg Williams had a better resume than that. He didn't do so well as a HC did he?

I deserve that, I should have looked it up before I questioned his record. I can admit when I am wrong(even though it is very rare :D )

Justa im not annointing him the next great coach in the NFL I agree he has to earn it..all I am saying is that the direct comparisons to spurrier are unjustified.

I didn't say you did  It's just easy to twist around an argument when after all is said and done, no one really knows how he will do until the games actually start. :D. All we're doing is making assumptions based on what has happened to other coaches in comparison to Saban. It's all valid but not fact.

BTW Saban=Spurrier :escape:

Im pretty sure we can agree on this the Dolphins afce Rivals certainly would have prefered that we kept Wanny.
