Does anyone think we'll see accountability on the sidelines with Saban

Nope, i think Saban will acknowledge player mistakes if brought up, but the guy is a loyal guy and all he's going to do is blame himself for everything that goes wrong, just like Reid, Belicheck ect. I just dont think he's that type of guy, and i really dont think many coaches are nowadays. I think behind the scenes he will talk to them, but he's not going to make a complete example of them or get in fights with them like we would have seen in the past from other coaches.

Ronnie Brown's play will keep Ricky there on the bench for the remaining 12.

Might be a little harder to pass that sense of accountability on to the players when they look across the room and see Ricky Williams sitting there.

Ricky..if he returns was brought in to help the team. As a player, if you can't be grown up enough to understand and move on then your not going to buy into what Saban is sellin. In which case you wouldn't last long anyways. Saban is doing everything he can to give this team the best chance to win now, something Wanny refused to do. And if that means bringing back a top 3 RB, then so be it. I think everyone is making way to much out of Ricky coming back. He won't be the feature back on a one dimensional team this time. We will spread the D and dare you to stop us through the air giving our linemen a brake from 11 guys at the LOS. And better chance to run block making Ricky's life a little better then he got the last two years he played. Ricky will probably get 10 to 20 carries a game depending on the situation. Thats perfect he will have energy at the end of games istead of being beatten up. As for players forgiving Ricky...it amazing what winning can do to an attitude.

The one thing I hated about Wanny was the way he never held anyone accountable for mistakes and poor play. That's why is players and coaches were not diciplined. Week after week our special teams would get holding penalties and it seems nothing ever got fixed. A corner would give up a big play wanny would just stand there clapping. Fiedler would give away a game with an Int and Wanny would just run his fingers through his hair. He never showed any fire or emotion and thats how the team played. Does anyone think Saban will get in a players face or bench a player that screws up instead of not holding anyone accountable like Wanny did because that really burned me up that there were never reprocutions for poor play? :yell:

He better. That's one of the reasons we brought him in- discipline.

EXACTLY!! I think coaches do hold their players responsible, and do call them out for mistakes, but they do so behind closed doors. We as fans don't know, for the most part, what goes on, but we can see by attitude over time the way coaches coach. Saban will hold his players responsible but we may never know about it until the player is cut or benched. Although that kinda sucks being a fan, I think the results are worth the lack of info. Dave felt he had a responsibility to the media that rivaled that to his team. I loved it when Saban showed just the opposite by kicking them out of the stadium.
Saban sees the big picture, and I love everything I have heard about him so far. I no longer think the tail will be wagging the dog...not with Saban.

Good point. As much as I am enthused about the new coaching staff I am queasy about the double standard that he seems to project. Also I think he is very susceptible to players with a lot of talent but who have character issues or who are injury prone much like Wanny and Rick and even JJ were.

I didn't want to turn this about Ricky. The main thing I think I have a complaint with is Keith Armstrong. He's not a good coach. If ST doesn't do well early on, Saban needs to boot him. Wes Welker alone saved his sorry hide. The penalties on them was rediculous.
:hmmm:
ST's was one of a few bright spot's for this team last season!!

Maybe the "team" isn't the source that should understand this "if he returns was brought in to help the team. As a player, if you can't be grown up enough to understand and move on then your not going to buy into what Saban is sellin.",,, Williams SHOULD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This team will be 180 degrees the opposite of that mess called Wanny-ball. Make crucial mistakes and feel the wrath of a coach and a team that makes or breaks players. We are not gonna put up with the crap that Wanny let become everyday practice for the Dolphins.
