Does Berlin out = Couch in?

Okay, show me where WE have interest in signing him.
C'mon dude you been around enough to know this game. Every teams media ask the agent if his player wants to come to their team;. Agent answers,"Yes!" to get the team interested in writing a fat check.

I have seen nothing anywhere form ESPN, NFL.com, any South FL media that has the team expressing any interest in either of these guys. Yet members here have them signing and us making a playoff run.

C'mon people keep it together. Lets seperate fan wants from reality.

And for the record I requested a link to where Couch was signing a contract. Read my post again.

The Dolphins called the agent for free agent defensive tackle Corey Simon on Monday to express interest in the Pro Bowl player who is interested in playing for Miami.

Why put a QB on the the practice squad? Your only allowed 8 guys and these guys need to be able to take a hit. QB's, like kickers, usually are not put on the PS. Usually the 3rd QB (Sage) will run the other teams O in practice.

Saban is considering putting a punter on the PS. http://www.finheaven.com/news/2520/ So it would seem it's not too far off to see Brock placed there. Cutting Sage and bringing in Couch or Simon doesn't sound too bad but it's sorta late to bring in another QB since the preseason is winding down.

Saban brought in Gus and now Saban may likely bring in Couch (or other) and it won't be to become the Dolphins 3rd stringer, will it? Where does that event put Feeley who is clearly NOT Sabans guy? The logic is that Feeley won't accept being 3rd string again. Saban is not stupid. Feeley is on his way out.

I hope so. Im an advocate of anybody that can help our team win and if Couch's injury is gone...he is already better than what we have at the QB position. I hope Saban gives him a shot and allows him to compete here. If nothing else it'll get the other guys to work harder. If everything goes good...we could still get 4-7 years out of Couch and with his potential it could be very beneficial for us. If not...then who cares...we tried.

Feeley sees the handwriting too

Feeley with all the short high-percentage passes etc. is trying to raise his qb rating in a pretty tranparent attempt to audition for some other team.

well I see your points but i dont like the idea of getting rid of Feeley only because Frerotte hasnt showned me enough to have any confidence in him. And Couch would not be ready to come in and play right away. Remember he is coming from reconstructive surgery to his right arm. So I believe if anybody will get cut it would be Rosendfell.

Good stuff....

or maybe Feeley is just trying to win the starting job and taking whatever the defense is giving him during those plays. Feeley is also the only one to complete a deep pass against Tampa Bay if I'm not mistaken.

You really think Saban will cut Feeley a week before the season, the guy who is back to splitting snaps with Gus Frerrote on the first string offense? If AJ was the one that would be cut don't you think Sage would be splitting snaps with Frerrote on the starting offense?

Your comments are rediculous. :shakeno:

Personally... i think couch has a much bigger upside than any other Player on our roster... i believe AJ is the most expensive QB we have on the roster. IF we sign Couch... thats IF.... The only one I see getting rid of is AJ.. because if AJ and GUS are the same on the field... then money management wins out.

Couch wants a shot... so he'll come cheap... One never knows... Buit i believe he's likely another Frerotte.

But he was a 1st round pick.... and has thrown for 3000yds a season...hes been battered behind poor teams and poor coaches. he might have the toughness we need.

Berlin's cut has absolutely nothing to do with Couch. We would never go into the season with more than 3 QB's.
If we do end up signing Couch you can kiss Sage goodbye.

I think the Bucs game is slightly misleading... Saban stated the main point of evaluating was drives that scores points..Starting strong and finishing strong. Gus led a drive to score points... Feeley led a drive that scored points... The only difference is that Feeley had a pretty pass to cap his drive, and In Gus' drive... Ricky proved he's still the man. Besides the scoring drives i thought both QBs were somewhat unimpressive.

Why would we want Couch, and what could he do for us that our other QB's can't???....

Couch is no better Feidler, and I don't want another one of those....

We should just stick to our guns, and see where it leads us. Besides, adding Couch two weeks before the season starts, would make almost no sense. Hee'd have to learn our offense, and get tons of reps just to get up to speed. He wouldn't be playing in 2005 at all IMO....

I never thought Couch was all that he was hyped up to be, and obviously nobody does either considering he's been unemployed for over a year. I don;t see any teams beating his door down waiting to sign him. Why should we???...

I think dumping Berlin was a mistake unless they end up putting him on the PC. I really liked what I saw from Berlin. He seemed very comfortable running Linehan's offense, and being only a rookie, he still has tons of room to grow....

At this stage, I'd rather keep Berlin than bring in Couch.....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Blitz...I don't usually dissagree to much with you, but I do on this one...I think at the very least, Couch is a better 3rd guy than Sage...the only advantage Sage has is knowledge of the system. The real question is whether Couch is healthy or not...He's been unemployed (to use your term) the last year because of his injury...Berlin couldn't do anything with the talent that the U had, what makes you think he can do anything here ??

Couch THINKS he's a badass. I've read that he likes to trash talk with the opposing defense.I like that attitude better than the deer in the headlights (River Trout) expression that I usually see on Feeley's face...
