Agreed. Injuries set the rookies back, and moving Dallas all over the OL did him no favors, which Philbin admitted. Then, there were guy playing well at the same positions (other than LG), and being in the playoff hunt through the last game, where you cannot just give out playing time for experience.

Well let's see who did the team have that would have beaten J Martin for a starting spot at RT? Oh there was nobody! Let's see, where did Tannehill start out in first preseason practice? 3rd string. Garrard got a career ending injury in the pool by his 2 year old, Matt Moore is a journeyman backup undrafted player who is mediocre at best. Tannehill was the best of the bunch and had the highest ceiling. Those 2 players were "no-brainers" for Philbin to start! That's lousy proof to claim he doesn't play rookies considering all the other rookies he's drafted haven't played much! Sure for some reason we've gone out and drafted more injured players that needed to heal, but at same time those guys were playing and were participating in practice. Philbin prefers vets, it's obvious and you can't base on 2 players only that he does play rooks!

In his two years as head coach we have only had two rooks play a lot, Tannehill and Martin. Both by necessity. But I think a lot of that came from Philbin and Ireland not seeing eye to eye on talent. Miller, Egnew, and Matthews got more plays in their second year. Seems like we want guys to have that year of strength and conditioning.

Thomas as bad as the line was had no excuse even with that. Sam Brenner seemed to adjust just fine

Who were all these studs on the oline or anywhere else keeping the dolphins from starting them. Matt Moore is better than some of the players that kept Dallas Thomas on bench.

Oline and connecting with Wallace wouldve seen us in the post season last year and when your in anything can happen especially taking into account that we beat really good teams last year.

Rookies contributing- who wouldnt want it? But we dont need it.

We need 2 solid starters out of the first day in this upcoming draft, God willing both on OL.

Out of last year's draft, id be content just to have Jordan and Simms emerge. Jordan for obvious reasons and Simms, well, Clay was amazing but having a big body TE is invaluable.

All of the rest can fade away. Dallas Thomas? IMO, even with 50% improvement the guy will never see a start on a line here or anywhere else. Obviously, i hope i am ridiculously wrong. Hopefully, every embarrassing snap- and they all were- flips a switch into beast mode this season.

If Jordan doesnt make an impact, last years draft is one of the worst drafts in recent memories. To me, already kinda is seeing as I believe the trade up was an atrocious, idiotic, and needless move but Jordan can make me eat crow. Oh, sweet, sweet honey dipped crow. How i long for it.

Believe Philbin, and not me, on Dallas. They had him playing 4 positions on the OL, which has to be a nightmare for any OL rookie. Brenner was kinda funny in adjusting, as other guys on the OL had to tell him what he had to do on every snap in his first game.

That would make sense as Dallas looked absurdly lost and overwhelmed. He'd block left when he should have gone right, he looked terrible and clueless. He looked at best a several year project to hopefully become an active roster backup. I also heard he was dealing with an injury as well, but no link so not completely sure. I hope they stick him at one interior position and let him develop.

To answer the original question: NO. What we have are three second year players who were major disappointments during their rookie season. As high draft picks they were expected to make major immediate contributions and they did not. If they play this year the way they did last year we can declare them to be another class of Jeff Ireland busts.
