Does Miami have the worst special teams unit in NFL?

Fields and Denney are good. Don Jones' tackle that caused the forced fumble, basically won us that game. Thigpen doesn't seem to get many opportunities.
We can improve but I think that we are nowhere near the worst.

Brandon Fields has been very good as usual, but Thigpen has been AWFUL on punt and kickoff returns. Moreover, our punt coverage unit gives up chunk yardage at least 1-2x every single game.

So, I'm not worried if we are 25th, 30th, or 32nd, but I would say we are definitely in the bottom 10 and definitely below average. The ranking itself doesn't matter, our special teams sucks.

Have we given up a KR for a TD or a Punt Return for one yet? Just curious, I can't remember..

Not that it matters much but, the article from the OPis on ST's blocking and tackling. When you add in the kickers and returns, we move to #30, and this is only because of Fields. Last year, we were #7 from PFF.

This year, Fields average is 49 and 43 net, last year was 50 and 41. This year, Sturges is 17 of 22, last year Carp was 22 of 27. This year, Thigpen is averaging 24 on kicks, and 7 on punts, last year was 27 and 12.

Dolphins have missed 23 tackles,,. Denver is ranked #1 overall, 6 MT's, and Seattle is #2, 7 MT's.

Outsiders, PFF, and any Phan watching special teams has to agree that we are very bad, and that there is a big drop off from last year. The difference between 26 or 30 is splitting hairs, and does not matter.
