does the QB controversy start again

everybody is. Its human nature.....I'm just annoyed at Saban's comments right now in terms of preparation and gameplanning. Honestly, how does he expect them to play 1,000,000 times better in the regular season when they are absolutely getting their azzes handed to them right now?

You know what.

I aplogize.

U aren't the biased narrowminded person I thought, like alot of others on here.

Yes Saban needs to do better as well

I agree. The supporters on both side seem to be a little narrowminded or biased. Even myself at times.

I think Saban is probably banging his head on the wall right now trying to figure out what to do.
I personally am not really backing either guy. I think it may be better if AJ takes the job because he has more potential, but I was rooting for Gus to step up tonight and show us he was the starter and would do a good job. He definitely didn't do that. As a pretty much unbiased person I would still give the nod to AJ right now based on his upside and the fact that he hasn't looked as bad as Gus. Hopefully eventually one of them will actually play good to win the job, but right now it is who is not playing the worst.

On a side note I think Saban still feels it is an open competition because I feel he left Feeley in as long as he did tonight to get a good look at him and see if he would continue to complete passes which he did for the most part.

Gus would have had alot better stats if the recievers could catch today. lets go over this mcmichael dropped 3 passes, booker dropped 2, chambers dropped the one to begin the game. that is another 6 completions. that makes him move up to 13 for 18 for probably around 150 yards because the one to chambers was a deep pass and the one to booker was deep. he moved around in the pocket good and created time for himself. the one fumble was his fault and it shouldnt have happened but everyone makes some mistakes but the other fumble was on the center just as much as it was on him, it was a bad snap. but the receivers made him look alot worst then he acctually was. He made alot of nice passes today.

No. Let's go over the horribly thrown passes. Not one of them was a good throw. But because the receivers got their hand on it, it counts as a drop.

I'm not biased as much as people think I am. I have said from the very beginning that I wanted the best QB to start, whoever that is.

People see me as being biased towards Gus because I had been defending him because of all the flak he has taken, even before a preseason game had been played. The guys who just said, "he's old, has no future" you know the rest. Others who had been saying that Feeley should be just handed the starting job.

Regardless, neither has separated themselves, and the competition must go on for another week.

i say no... yes Feeley did play well and didnt make some of the mistakes he has in the past but i still think that MOST of the mistakes were because of the WHOLE team not just Gus. Yes he made his mistakes as well... it was not a great game for him, but as i said in another post, i think Gus still played fairly solid, the receivers however had a pretty bad night (MCMICHAEL IS PARTICULAR!)
even if we toss out gus's completion percentage(38%) those two fumbles he personally had were inexcusable. One the flip side, the only thing feeley could've done to improve himself anymore tonight was to have thrown and completed the long ball, that and a touchdown.

In all, that last game, Gus didn't do anything to lose the job, and he certainly didn't do anything to win it, this game? more of the same, if we forget the fumbles, he still didn't do anything to seperate himself from feeley in this race.
