Doesn't look like........

Thanks Captain Myopic, but It shouldnt take a genius in Ross to know his NFL franchise is losing money at an alarming rate. He might know the real estate business, but as far as NFL bunsiness goes, he clearly has no idea what he is doing and he admitted as much by hiring TD, DM, and JT to advise him.. smartly.
You guys are all idiots! The guy is one of the richest people in the world, you don't get that way by being senile or stupid. Where are you guys in life? That should answer your questions. You don't hire a head coach and instantly have a winning football team. I understand your frustration yesterday, but get a clue. Just to do one Miami to hire for GM? Who do you want for head coach? You we animals just wanted fire someone because you're angry. You have no clue as to how to run a football team. But your all authorities. No wonder the rest of the league thinks were a laughing stock, because of fans like you.

I'm a business owner and a successful one at that. When I have a fox in the hen house I get rid of it. Get over yourself
It's called addition by subtraction you DOLT!

Me too. And using his logic, there are no bad owners since they all are mega rich. Ask Knicks fans what they think of james Dolan.

While I don't think Philbin is gone, I don't think he is necessarily safe, either.

I expect a significant move to be made, either GM and Philbin + staff will get fired, or at the very least, GM and OC let go.

The reason it wasn't done immediately is because Ireland or Philbin weren't terrible (but Sherman was). They both have made nice decisions, and both have had their fair share of mistakes and missteps (especially Ireland). With this in mind, he's not going to fire anyone IMMEDIATELY because he might not feel there is a better replacement available. Ross will take his time with the decision. Not to think about it, but to see what is available.

I find it amusing people are picturing Ross as this old, lazy, senile man. You realize he is a billionare who is probably, without ever having to meet you, 10x smarter, more driven, and more ambitious than anyone here. Don't forget that...

He is going to start weighing his possible options at GM and HC and see what he would hypothetically replace his guys with before he makes a decision. He's not resigned to the fact to keeping ANYONE, but if he feels he doesn't have someone better to replace them with, they'll keep their jobs. I think the only person gone for sure is Sherman.

Coaches don't always get fired on the Monday after, most do, but not all. I remember the Titans fired Jeff Fisher the week of the Super Bowl.

I think Philbin is staying, but just because he didn't get the axe today doesn't guarantee he is back.

Joe will come back. I am almost convinced. I think he gets more power after all is said and done.

Get ready to double down with Joe.

Lord help us if Ross forces Philbin on a new GM. We will end up with another 4 years of .500 football. I am almost praying the bottom falls out completely so that Ross will have no choice but to clean house

cant understand this mentality. If they completely clean house we are almost certain to have atleast two more years of mediocrity.

Hey I agree with all that you said but IMO many of us would like to see Ross act with vision and conviction when it comes to leading the franchise back to its former winning ways. For example, and I know this isn't the same example, but the Browns owner felt in his heart that Chud wasn't the guy and he canned Chud after one year. Now I don't agree with the Brown's owner and feel there is more behind the scenes between the owner and Chud that lead to his firing. However the owner acted swiftly and convincingly because .... right or wrong .... that he had to make a change.

This is what many here IMO would like to see Ross do. If Ross believes in Philbin and dare I say (gasp) Ireland then he needs to show his conviction and speak to us about it. If Ross has his doubts then act on them. Show some stones and be a leader of the franchise.

Oh really?

KC went from the number overall pick to the 5th seed in one year, yet we are perpetually stuck in neutral. A full overhaul doesn't guarantee anything, but neither does staying status quo with this bunch of underachievers. If anything, staying status quo is more of a guarantee of mediocrity because it is a proven commodity. Ya, the next staff could be a colossal failure, but at least there is a chance they could be a smashing success. Not so with he current staff

Hey, I see your point. But if Ross doesn't feel he will have a better coach to replace Philbin with, or a better GM to replace Ireland with, then what does he do? Put someone in the position that he believes is worse?

He may want to replace them but might not find a better alternative (because, if we are being honest, neither is BAD at their job, but both have definitely been the definition of mediocre at it). Maybe he feels that the available candidates aren't just mediocre, but outright bad - then do you can the guy just for the sake of change? No, you don't. That may be what is going on here.

The only thing I am sure of is Sherman is going to be gone. Everything else is a toss up.
