Dolphin Fans Are Crazy Dumb Or Drunk

Dude that's why I love coming to this site all the time. And that's the reason I joined. You guys are great with the optimism. Carolina didn't produce the same team the next year. Injuries were healed and talent almost COMPLETELY replaced. And no confusion of a new coach and new system. Hmmmm...who has a brand new NFL coach and a new system to teach and learn??? Us. I hope I'm dead wrong, but I don't think I am. I wish FINHEAVEN would save this post so I can re-read it after we go 6-10. Then I want my props. Otherwise I'm buying drinks for everyone on the site. Ha ha.
ok, how about the 4-12 2003 Chargers becoming the 12-4 2004 Chargers. What happened there? (one think was a coach with the initials HH who we happen to have now)

One thing I have always wondered is why do you care? What does it matter that some people want to have high expectations and look at this as a superbowl year? How does that affect you?

Exactly! I never understood it either. I just laugh at the arguments between the so called "homers" and "realists".

I think Miami will go 8-8, which would be a nice improvement

Our competition got better? Do you mean the Jay Fiedler led Jets? Or the Hudson Houck-less Chargers? Or maybe you mean the patriots, without 60% of their coaching staff + retirements and loss of key players all over the place? Or maybe you mean the Bills they did get Loserman, right?

Dude your comments did not make any sense to me. In today's parity driven NFL any team can do ANYTHING at any time.

If people on this site think for a moment that Saban is about 8-8 this year you are on the learning curve. He did not just go out and get Lance Schulters, and Traylor, and Spragan, and Tebucky Jones, and (supplemental draft choice) Wright, and Holliday, and Carter, and Boston, and Ricky Williams, and Gus Ferrotte, and Jr Seau, and Ronnie Brown and the rest of his draft choices cause he's waiting to be good. That is utter nonsense. He is going for all the marbles right now. He probably won't get it, but some people are gonna get their teeth kicked in during the process of him trying. And you better bet your top dollar that Saban will be in the thick of things this year. We will be a playoff team and from there ANYTHING can happen!

Cynics like you are boring!

all of what you wrote is very sensible............

BUT.............

You can not deal in absolutes in today's NFL, you just can't!!! There are no guarantees. The 4-12 Rams can go and win the Superbowl the next year, a conference champion can be a cellar dwellar the next. The Eagles actually can win an NFC Championship game. The TB YucKs can be world champs.

The other point you make is that our competition has gotten stronger as well......did the teams in our division really get stronger??

Patriots:
Lost - Bruschi, Patten, T.Johnson, Phifer, Romeo Crennel, Charlie Weiss, Keith Traylor
Added - Tim Dwight, David Terrell, Logan Mankins, Chad Brown
Bottom Line(on paper) - WEAKER

Jets:
Lost- S.Moss, K.McKenzie, J.Ferguson, D.Abraham, A.Becht, L.Jordan
Added - Heimerdinger, Jolley, Coles, L.Legree, M.Nugent, J.Miller, D.Blaylock
Bottom Line - WEAKER - new o-coordinator is nice but they didn't adequately replace Ferguson or McKenzie, Blaylock is no Jordan.

Bills:
Lost - Jennings, Bledsoe, Pat Williams, Travis Henry
Added - Holcomb, Parrish
Bottom Line - WEAKER

Now I'm sure I don't have complete lists, and I know that fans of these teams can make valid arguments why I'm wrong.....but as I see these teams, they are no better or worse than they were a year ago.

Anyway, that's not my real point, the real point is that you are trying to make an prediction a FACT, and in the NFL , you just can't do that.

So you are basically saying all the new talent we brought in will bring us exactly ZERO wins( Ronnie, Ricky, Gus, Carter, Roth, Holiday,LanceS, Chowder, Daniels, Boston, O-Line guys, ...) Since you said the new coaches would get us 2 more wins and you see us going 6-10...this must be the case?? No taking into account the close games we lost last year either? Come on...

San Diego made a great comeback, and I personally think we have better players so there is no reason we cant.

I was just kidding man, you know that.

I know you think we'll suck this year too, so I paired you and the UF guy together.
I don't think we'll suck, I never do. I just feel that this is not our year but that it could be the beginning of something great. Is that negative???

The Panthers have been drafting top ten for years and also had the #1 pick the year they went 1-15. Also they went 1-15 ,7-9, 11-5 Superbowl.
Well actually the Panthers have never had a #1 overall pick, and I think only pick in the top 10 in about 4 out of their 10 drafts. I know what your saying though.

Who was worse the year they went 1-15? Or was there two 1-15 teams and they won the tie-breaker?

Can't remember but Peppers was the #2 overall pick.

No, they had the #2 pick and took Julius Peppers. The expansion Texans had the first pick. but you are right about the 7-9 season between 1-15 and SB.

EDIT - I was a little late on the "not #1 overall- but it was the Texans who drafted David Carr first.
