Dolphins at Steelers - Predictions?

I'm bad when it comes to predictions related to the Dolphins. My bias always gets to me. I did a pro football pick em last year and I chose the Dolphins to win all 16 weeks

My prediction: The Dolphins win in a close one, 21-17 :D

:sidelol: niceee ..... same prediction tho 21-17 for us

Comparing the Steelers game to Denver last year isn't realistic. A lot of things went very wrong for Denver in that game and they were expecting the 2004 Dolphins. No one is going to be underestimating the Phins this year.

Asking this on a Dolphins site is obviously going to get you biased answers. I hope that no one gets hurt on either side, but I don't see a new secondary for the Phins holding up a whole game against the very balanced Steelers. On the flip side, I don't see the phins offense being that in sync early in the year and the Steeler D is a monster. I don't see a blow out because the Steelers don't play that way, but neither do I see it as coming down to the wire.

As I've said in another post, I'm glad this game is happening early, because the Steelers would have more problems with the Phins later in the season when things start to really come together on the offense and the secondary.

Flame away if you like but I gave a fair balanced reply unlike some on here.

I think those are very reasonable reasons for why the Steelers ought to win this game. I also think the Dolphins secondary will be suspect for the first few games, and that will put them at a disadvatage against a world-class defense. The Steelers certainly have the d-line and linebackers to keep Ronnie Brown limited to a 3 yard a carry day.
But I think this game will be close. The Dolphins have a pretty good d-line too, a some good linebackers. I think that spells trouble for Willie Parker. If true, that means that the onus will be on Big Ben and I don't see him getting enough quality preseason time to really be 'in sync' either.
If you accept all that, it comes down to the passing game. Quaterbacks, kickers and tight ends should be about even. Miami has better receivers, Steelers have a better o-line. Coin flip in my mind, but Pittsburgh should be favored by between 3-6 pts. at home.

yea, all the new players, who would think they could beat a good team right away. ask the Broncos what they think about the Dolphins and fresh faces....

i'm not saying we'll win like we did against the broncos last year, but i think it will be closer than most people think. i think the fins have a pretty good chance of winning this one.

So how is your answer not biased? Your balanced offense? Ok Ward is a great WR, but you dont ask Ben to do anything at QB so I would hardly consider Pittsburgh's O 'too much for our un-gelled D"

Why wont our offense be in synch? B/c of DC?

Every Dolfan will claim victory and the troll Steeler fans, which you WILL see before Sept 7, will come in here and talk smack until the game is over

Well I'm not a troll first off. Second, yes I said balanced. Ben was winning games with his arm through the playoffs in case you missed that. You can look at the numbers, I didn't pull balanced from my butt.

I expressed an opinion about the Dolphins offense being new with a new quarterback. It was a fair assesment given the history of new coordinators coming in with new QB's, and recievers getting used to working with a new QB. They could come out smoking and prove me wrong. That is why they play the game.

The offensive and defensive units for the Steelers have been working together a lot longer and, on paper, pose a lot of match up problems for the Dolphins.

Any talk before a game is speculation, but speculation using common sense is fair and balanced. I notice you didn't give any plausible reasons why the Dolphins would be able to win the game other than gut feeling. Please don't take gut feeling to Vegas.

ill be at the game and let me say this....theres no way im gonna be at the airport from 1 to 6 after a losing game!! IT WilL be a VICTORY. the steelers secondary only has polamalu. porter is your only pass rusher. you have 2 studs on defense and one other solid lb. your dline isn't that good and your cbs are average at best. culpepper might not be his best but we still have more offensive weapons then you do. ronnie brown randy mcmichael and chris chambers are a lot better than willie parker, miller, and ward. mcmichael will have a solid game and whose guarding chambers??

hines ward is your only receiving threat, miller does not scare me. double ward and our rush defense is top 10 so parker wont go off. jason taylor will remind roethlisberger about his bike crash and zach thomas and crowder will ensure prker doesnt go off. take care of ward and its scary. and yes our secondary is a question but we have enough guys back there to cancel ward and miller out of the picture...then who is it holmes??? he has enough problems and your other wrs are gaaarbage

I know you arent a troll b/c I never said you were one. I said you WILL see them start to flood this place as we get closer, and they will all scream bloody hell that they'll win 70-3

I never said we would win the game. Theres no point in making a prediction on Aug 10.

31-10 Steelers. We've got to many players that need playing time together. Don't bother flaming me, I'll definetly be rooting for the Dolphins, just don't see us winning in Pitt in our first start out of the gate.
