Dolphins blew it with passing on Herbert

His release. He may not have the biggest arm in the league but his release is lightning quick. That's not particularly controversial.
Fair. My complaint is he waits too long to release it. You're definitely right there.

Yep, love his passion, never said I didn’t, but he was limited and never knew his limitations. He really blew A LOT of games on his own.
Sorry, I was just stating this, not saying you didn't. I was just thinking out loud. Haha. Wasn't slighting your opinion. You're absolutely right. His ego got in the way a lot.

Golly you seem sort of submissive!

Actually refreshing... But around here lots of folks think out-loud!

Have fun.

Tua needed to have 'Jedi Mind' QB skills to offset his size, lack of arm talent and less than great speed. If he cant start showing that soon then our rebuild is a wagon sans horse.

Not really. With 4 starts, in 2 of them his completion % is a very mediocre 55%, the third was an ok 60%, and the 4th a very good 71%. Tua has had one truly "good" game, Arizona.
Its almost like dropped balls dont matter in your deep analysis. Fascinating.

This forum is going to be completely unreadable if every single week is going to determine whether or not we made the right QB choice.

Did anybody ACTUALLY watch the game last week? Did anybody see Herbert do literally anything at all outside of throwing screens and passes to the flat because his own OC was so terrified of him having to stand there and actually play QB that he tried to avoid it until it was too late in the fourth and then you started seeing Herbert just throw it to the other team or into the dirt instead?

And what, something changed because Herbert played the JETS?

He has TWO wins. Jacksonville and the Jets. The worst two teams in the league. His defense gives up 27 points a game and his offense scores 26 points a game. Now, anybody with a brain please tell me what their record SHOULD be given those two numbers? Hint: It's better than 2-7.

If you want to ignore the obvious warts in Herbert's game that is causing his team to lose games, then go for it. Those of us who actually watch college football and paid attention during the draft knew. He sucks in pressure situations. He sucks with the game on the line. That was his biggest flaw then and it's his biggest flaw now. It's why his team is 2-7 instead of 3-4 or 4-3.

Good Post! Love it! 'Mic drop' quality!

Melvin Gordon looked faster vs us than Ive ever seen before. He looked like the college superstar that I seldom saw with LA Chargers. If he couldve played this well with LA he'd still be in LA. He looked so quick! Lindsay is also a stud.
The Broncos have so much more talent tgan Miami does but their QB play was putrid until Lock played smart Sunday and let their run game dictate the offense. Lock made a few good throws but it was pretty easy pickins, especially when our O couldn't stay on the field.
They might be the only other team with so little talent in offense.

Oops, that last sentence was from when I was going to discuss The Jets. The Jets might be the only other team with as little offensive talent as us.

Houston is pretty piss-poor now, too. Watson is kinda 'eh' but his cupboard is BareAF in terms of weapons.

Tua has shown he is tough, smart, accurate etc... whoever is complaning about Tua I can’t help you. The OL last Sunday got dominated by Denver’s DL. The OL IS NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT. This team is performing better then expected. If I’m Grier and Flores , I’m drafting all offense next draft. Get 2 best receivers w the 2 first rounders, grab a rb and add lineman. Upgrade defense w free agents if possible.

You do realize that everything you say in this post makes zero sense. Herbert has 2700 yards 22 td and 6 int on a bad team. It's not from throwing screen passes. You watch one game and say, look what he did against the jets! 326 against the raiders, 278 vs. Denver (did Tua have 78?), 264 NO, 290 Tampa, 330 Carolina, 311 KC. Screen passes. Lol.

If we don't score on defense and special teams, Tua doesn't beat the rams, doesn't beat the Chargers, and doesn't beat the Cardinals. So don't act as if Herbert's at fault for their 2-7 record. They are terrible on defense and botched leads in several games. He's put them on position to win.

Also, warts on Herbert's game that he's causing his team to lose games? What are you watching? You need to look at the above numbers. Stop reverting to him in college. Tua was awful under pressure in college too, he just never saw much of it. One also played at Alabama, the other not so much.

You know what Herbert never did? Ask out of a conference title game with a mystery injury after he couldn't handle the pressure. He also doesn't have a fake hip and holes in his ankles from being hit because he holds the ball too long.

Make up all the excuses as to why you think Tua is better than Herbert. Maybe one day but not even close at the moment.

If you can look yourself in the mirror and say you would rather have Tua then Herbert right now, your sanity needs to be questioned. Sorry.
