Dolphins can put Herm on chopping block with win.

Did you watch the game? His arm was fine it was fumbling the ball unless you think his weak arm caused the fumbles and bad snaps from mawae.

Yeah, I did I also watched Chad play at Marshall for 4 yrs. Hes a great QB, but something is wrong with that arm.

He didn't have an arm when he led the NFL in passing a few years ago either. His arm is fine.

People can discuss Chad's arm strength until they are blue in the face...as our beloved Jet rival said "this is a do or die game"....in WEEK 2!

The Jets will be VERY dangerous and be ready to fight after getting the crap kicked out of them this week.

I am confident and I feel great about the Phins. That being said, this is an AFC East road game...always a the best ideal situation. I wish we were playing one of the weak sister NFC team this week.

This will be a tough, tough game.

Alot of folks overreact, Chad threw the ball very well he just couldn't hold on to it when he got hit and Mawae fumbled a few snaps. he'll be fine, I am very encouraged w/ the way he looked physically, once he gets the O down mentally and stops thinking and just plays this O will be hard to stop.

IM listening to the FAN right now and they are killing Chad. He said Joe Montana? More like Tony Montana after he was filled full of machine gun fire. He also said, Chad absolutley STINKS. LMAO!

Good post... BUT... before we get too ****y...this fact could work against us...

IMO... it could make them very dangerous... especially at the Meadowlands...

Rat I agree. It's odd that we are the 1-0 team that played well and they are the 0-1 team going into this contest. Their backs are against the wall here and they need a win badly. Chad PENNINGTON is getting killed here on Sports Talk radio and so is HERM.

My point is this. If the JETS should lose this game, which isn't likely, but looks much more possible than it did a few weeks ago, you can send them packing in this divsion.

keep in mind that joe benigno is one of those Jet fasn that cries the season is over after any loss. He is as negative as they come, he's a nice guy and loves the Jets but gets down real quick. In '02 I had to talk him off a ldge after we fell to 2-5, I told him we'd be fine and we wonthe division and you should have seen the glee in his face the next day after we won the division.

The thing is we dont know who is gonna be starting. Hermy may wana start Jay. It'd be a dumb move in my opinion but we ARE talking about the Jets here. They have never been known to be intelligent

If this was the same Phins Jay played for I would say it would be a smart move but alot has changed in Phin land.

chad will start and have a good game -- the jets/phins games are always comptetive and I expect nothing less this week

herm isn't going anywhere -- until they miss the playoffs 2 years in a row herm will stay -- i like herm personally and hope he stays.

as for chad's fumbles - 2 were his fault and mawae took the blame on the rest with his awful snapping -- look for him to own zach thomas next week

While that has been true in the past, I doubt it happens on Sunday. You see we have a big fat nose tackle named Keith Traylor who played like a frickin' pro bowler on Sunday and who will be lined up directly in front of Mawae. That alone should keep your center off of our MLB ( finally ). This will be part of my weekly writeup that should be up Wednesday night. Keep an eye on it. I would love to have ffedback from jets fans. :D

ooohhhh. I thought we had won it as we went into NE the week before and beat them up in front of a Nat'l TV audience and then we whipped 12-3 GB who wereplaying for homefield.

Quite true... but I believe at the time you were 3rd in the division. If Wanny weren't such a bafoon, the 'Phins would have won that last game... and the Jets wouldn't have made the playoffs at all. That, by definition, is called backing into the playoffs. :)

Tied for 2nd w/ NE just a game back and we held the tiebreakers. backing in(I don't truly believe there is backing in but) is what Minny did last year. We eraned that division by beating quality teams those last few weeks and beating them badly.

I have always felt this guy is so overrated. He is a good motivator, but a bad x'o guy. Today at 1:10 pm, I will put on 660 the FAN here in NJ and listen to the sweet sounds of Jets fans weeping into their telephones, complaining about the very same coach who they said was the NFL'S very best just a week ago.

Think IM kidding here? IM not. If we can go into the Meadowlands this Sunday and sneak out a win? The hated Miami Dolphins, who were picked to be the NFL'S Worst would be 2-0 and the great accomplished New York Jets would fall to 0-2, in the leagues most competitve Division.

The Jets from what I heard looked out of sync and struggled learning the new O. Their O line wasn't what it used to be and was bullied by the KC D LINE? Now that is promising. If they thought KC'S D was tough, wait until they get a load of Sabans.

IM not going to go crazy over one game. I understand in the NFL things change from week to week, and the Jets better hope that happens for them this coming Sunday. Keep in Mind, Miami didn't really play well. We killed so many drives with turnovers and penalties and still that D was suffocating. If we can STUFF Denver, one of the NFL'S best running teams, we can Stuff the Jets also.

Couldn't ask for a better scenario. Instead of Miami coming into favored New York 0-1 facing a 1-0 Hot Jets team as evey Jets fan predicted, the Dolphins are the team who come in 1-0, one fire, nothing to lose, VS what everyone thought to be a SERIOUS Superbowl contender, already on their Heels and maybe playing for their season, IN the second week.

Think that's not true? Look at it this way. What if the PATS and BILLS win again and the Jets lose this game AT HOME vs the Miami Dolphins? Not only would the JETS have to CLIMB over a 2 game deficit vs a team that was written off by every so called expert in the NFL, they would be looking 2 games up at Buffalo, who has a DOMINATE D, one of the NFL'S best RB'S and a second year QB, who looks like last years Roethlishberger. Oh, I almost forgot, a 2 game climb over the Superbowl Champion New England Patriots.

Jets are already in a do or die game, in this the second week of the NFL. And Herm Edwards is a step closer to getting his walking papers. Who is their left to blame? The D coordinaor was fired a few years ago and the EVIL O coordinator was let go last year.

Miami 20 Reeling Jets 17

Exactly what makes this game scary..yes we should enjoy the win.. but teams playing with desparation should make us nervous. The Jets now have film on us. They will game plan us.. they see what we have.... Our Oline talent is stil subpar... Coaching will make the difference.

If we can win this game.. If we can go up there and take this game... WE should be considered contenders...
We already knocked off 1 SB contender.... Lets line up the next!

Perhaps, but I digress... that stuff has little bearing on the state of the Jets today. I for one, am not scared of the Jets in the least. I'm not just saying that due to their poor performance either. I see the Pats and Bills as the teams to beat in the AFCE, with the 'Phins having a shot at being up there... depending on how fast the team comes along. It'll take another few weeks of similar performances for the Dolphins to be considered anything but a fluke, and I'm alright with that.

The Jets however are shaping up to have a pathetic offense. Their entire offense is reliant on Pennington, and he's proven to be made of glass. The guy just cannot stay healthy. You can will him to be at 100% all you want, but from what I saw of him his arm was no where near recovered. I'm not talking about fumbles... I'm talking about him underthrowing wide open recievers by 10+ yards on short routes. Curtis Martin made his last hurrah last year, IMO... I don't expect anywhere near that level of production from him again this year. 371 attempts on a 30+ year old RB is nothing to laugh about. He'll show wear and tear this year, and won't be anywhere near as effective.

Your defense may win you a few games this year, but you cannot expect them to carry you to the playoffs. I don't think you can ride Martin this year either, and I expect him to have a subpar year. Your season hinges on Pennington being able to get back to 100%. Until that happens, I do not fear the Jets in the least.
