Dolphins CEO: Joe Philbin is our Head Coach

I could but it would just fall on deaf ears.

Was thinking the same thing. I had a reply going on the qualities of our coach that I find make him a good coach. Half way through I realized who I was replying to and decided not to waste my time.

Joe Philbin is our Head Coach. I didnt hear him say..the new GM will need to work with Joe Philbin. So..I dont think anything has changed

1. I never thought he would be fired.
2. I DO think the org is making a mistake not cleaning house and using half measures....again.
3. I am still not sure what Joe is good at as HC and nobody can tell me.

Agreed on all counts. I have never been impressed by Philbin as a coach......Ever

One final point on Philbin that, in my book, totally indicts his coaching abilities...... His team lost to a VERY mediocre Buffalo Bills squad that was injury riddled..... Just as we were coming off a Bye and as healthy as we had been all year. And the icing on the cake was....We were at home. Please defend that.

Maybe the best DLine in the game was up against the worst OLine in the game. Recipe for disaster, no matter who your HC is.

THen why are reports saying that we are interested in Harbaugh and that Ross still wants him? IF there is an upgrade available, Philbin is out.

I think it was get the GM (or whatever he was) harbaugh praised and if we suck this year and harbaugh's contract talks go wrong he would want the Dolphins HC job

Through out the past decade teams in the AFC East have been built to challenge the Patriots for the division title. The Jets and Bills have both been very successful in culminating a stout front 7 and a running game to put pressure on Brady and trying to control the clock to keep him off the field. This just happened to be our biggest weaknesses this year and we did not match up well vs either defense. These division games, especially to finish the season, worried more than other other teams that we could have played for these reasons.

Philbin/Tanne will be a good HC/QB combo in this league. My opinion of course...

As good as say..... Mike Smith & Melty Ice?????

Point 2) Lets continue blowing things up every 2 yrs and sink to Cleveland and Oakland like depths. Brilliant?
Point 3) How do we know its wasn't Joe and his stoic demeanor that kept the team from unraveling during the Martin fiasco?

Holy ****...you ARE blowing things up...just partially. That almost never works. Come on people.

I did give credit to Joe for being a good admin...I just did not call him stoic. lol. I think I gave him a better compliment than you did...lol.

I have no idea what this means.

If I remember that game correctly, Tanne threw a pick 6 in the first few minutes and then threw a ugly interception in the end zone. We also had a fumble at the end of the game that set up the Bills in FG range. The players have to execute....not sure Joe Philbin can throw the passes from the sidelines.

While it is obvious you would have liked to have seen a clean sweep, I just don't see why there is such a perceived negative for a new GM to have a coach already in place. There is value in continuity and stability with a young team which I think would greatly help this group.

Also, if a coach does his job....and the GM doesn't and gets fired, by your logic the coach would have to be fired as well if a team wanted to find a good replacement GM? I'm not sure these NFL teams and these scenarios are a "one size fits all" when it comes to solutions.

Philbin is good at picking up the trash - an overpaid binman if you ask me.

On a slightly more serious note, I agree I'm not sure this half measure approach will work. Either fully back Philbin or get rid.

Because forced marriages do not win. Lame Philbin supporters point to Carolina, but no team in the past 20 years with a forced marriage has won the Super Bowl. Most fail.

Do you know what else mostly fails?

Everything.
