Dolphins claim CB Chris Owens, waive CB Justin Rogers

its a worse sign when you're still signing guys that play a position you already invested a 2nd and 3rd round pick in. Makes you wonder just how behind the 8 ball Jamar and Will really are...

Patriots: Have 3 CB that were drafted in the 7th round or CFA starting ahead of their 3rd Selection!!

I love when you people think every thing negative is only indictive of our situations when you can plug any team and see they all have some sort of issue no matter how you slice it.

Here's the current NFL depth Chart.

Please tell me how many 1st year CB that were drafted in 2nd and 3rd round CB are currently starting..

What you wanted Dee Milner how well is he doing ? He's a first round pick what's he's excuse..??

Out of all the CORNERBACKS THAT WERE DRAFTED ONLY 5 ARE CURRENTLY STARTING AND THREE OF THE FIVE ARE FIRST ROUND PICKS, ONE IS A 2ND AND THEY OTHER IS A CFA..

And none of them had to deal with the play of a GRIMES, PATTERSON and CARROLL.

Owens is a quality pickup. Ideal slot Corner, hes what you look for when covering guys like welker and edelman.. he likes contact, best slot Corner on the Market.

Not only that but most are struggling. Milliner, Amerson, Trufant particularly so. Xavier Rhodes is doing OK but has been injured twice, Banks (who I wanted) is doing OK also but caught MRSA. Mathieu has been great but is now out for the season.

I just don't see Davis amounting to anything much. Never liked the pick. Taylor is different. He's a real Coyle CB and could be a good move if he can get healthy, having not had a bad injury history before.

Hey, given Ireland's recent successes with Dmitri Patterson and Michael Thomas, I'm not about to second guess his waiver wire pickups for young veteran CB's to play in Coyle's system. Offensive linemen and receivers are still sources of tremendous frustration, but DL and CB he seems to be finding.

Davis was and is raw. The kid flashes very good ability ... but looked likely to be a multi-year project of sorts. I'm still on-board with enduring the learning curve for him. Taylor is frustrating. Originally I thought we had plucked a gem of a CB when we grabbed a 1st round talent a little later in the draft ... but now I'm not so sure. Talent-wise the kid has it. But, his medical issues that prevents him from using anti-inflammatories has really made his recovery process unbelievably long and may rob the team of any real contribution he would otherwise make. The guy needs to always stay healthy, because the penalty for him getting dinged up is severe.

Team needs to look into natural anti-inflammatories that do not hurt the kidneys/liver.

Turmeric Curcumin, etc.

As it is, the team has nada from their high draft pick investment in Taylor. How much better would some of the other available picks have helped the Phins? And maybe saved the terrible later picks such as D. Thomas, etc. Once you start picking questionable players in a draft, it creates a vortex of "make up" picks -- such as Davis and Thomas, last year.

All started w. the questionable pick of Taylor.

no issue with the move at all. Owens is a better player than Justin Rogers. i'm just surprised we brought in another slot guy, when it's the boundary that needs help IMO. maybe our coaches view Jalil Brown as depth for the boundary position. oh well. Owens is a guy you could take into camp and see what he has to offer for next season. he's got some upside.

I thought that his being unable to use anti-inflammatories was a temporary thing that made his original injury recovery slower. I don't think you'll find it anywhere that he is permanently unable to use them. I'm not saying it's certain he is able to take them, I am saying it's uncertain that he isn't.

He has hamstring issues. Nothing to do with he's condition. But facts don't matter..

I'm not too knowledgeable about the various anti-inflammatories ... but if there is a natural option that doesn't effect his liver/kidneys ... then that sounds like a great solution.

Wonder what the dig is on him, seems pretty good.

Fish oil, vitamin D, Curcumin, green tea, turmeric, skullcap root, EGCG, quercitin, capolis, etc etc... There are over 800 known compounds that affect the cytoplasmic hetrodymer Nf-KB and cause a pleomorphic reduction in cellular inflammatory response. Duh

Don't get your hopes up that Owens is any more than serviceable in spurts. In Atlanta, we called him Crisp Owens because he got burned so much.
