Dolphins Combine Meetings

We have a lot of holes besides OL.

This narrative that fixing the OL is all that we need is puzzling.

Who is starting at S next year?

What DL do we have under contract ?

We are also kinda thin at TE, RB and WR too

Safety isn’t an impactful position, atleast not in weavers defense. We had one of the worst safety combo’s and a top half defense. It’s almost be hard to have anything worse, holland and poyer might have been the worst graded duo in the league.

We are fine at te, rb and wr. Could use a blocking tight end which you can find late or udfa, same with rb depth. Neither are expensive or will take high resources.

As for DL, if I were a betting man I’d place a lot of money that one of our top 3 picks are DL.

Fixing the two guard positions fixes the entire side of the ball just about. There could be minor updates but with average guard play and a healthy Tua it’s a top 10 unit with just those two upgrades which is why people want it fixed so bad.

RAS means nothing if you are so weak you spend all game on your back. Beyond that, half the stuff at the combine is literally useless in the NFL. Oh darn, my OG only has a 27” vertical and 7’10” board jump. I’ll take a fat guy who can block all day.
I am actually shocked at how well Eich tested. 33 reps is about 25 more than I thought he was capable of. His agility numbers also pop but just like WRs who can run 4.3 but look like they run 4.8 when the lights come on, I think Liam is a case where his strength and athletic ability goes away. when the game starts. Maybe he just could never adjust to the speed of the NFL, maybe it was the position changes or the multiple OL coaches he's had but he's done in Miami. Some team will think they can uncover a real player in him but I hope both the player and the team who drafted him call it quits.

He gave up 1 sack in 2 years at LT at Notre Dame and was a team captain but it didn't matter when he got to the NFL

Tate Ratledge's impressive combine performance.

6'6.5 308

4.97 40 - rank 4

1.72 10 yard split - rank 3 tied

7.38 3 cone - rank 1

32 vertical

9-5 broad

32.25 arm

He could be a round 2 option.

Short arms = higher reps and horrific jumps at that light weight and height = no lower body strength.

Kinda funny. After safety day, we need to take Malaki, or Nick. CBs came and same same. Then Dline came and wow we need to take so and so at 13. Then wideouts, running backs were the flavor of the day. Now oline is hot hot hot! Lol.

Tomorrow is punters so there's that I guess.

Absolutely true but an organization has to prioritize to an extent. Sure, any plans has to be flexible to changing circumstances and how the picks fall.

Let me ask you this. Individuals and favorites aside, what area of the team to you believe is priority #1?

Whatever that is, you don't wait until rd3 to address it, regardless of some perceived, subjective (and often arbitrary) notion that the draft is "deep" at a particular position.

Can you get a "day one starter" in the third? Sure. You "can" but history is pretty clear the odds are much lower than rd1 or 2.

Having said that, the FAs we sign will, to a large extent, dictate how we approach the draft.

All of the offensive linemen are reaches at 13. No standouts just fillers.

Miami is desperate, they'll bite...
