Dolphins Combine Meetings

Grrr, I just know Grier is going to crush my soul.

That dudes going to Sign Zeitler and some other old stop gap linemen and claim the line is fine for now so he can address defense.

I know that's what he is doing

Yup, this is why I keep shrugging it off when people say this is a defensive draft.

Sure it is, but it's a GREAT draft for exactly the type of Linemen Miami needs

Last year was a great draft for IOL. This draft is perfect for Miami.

It's true Negligence if Miami does not have both Guards taken care of after this draft. Miami was and still is in prime position to fix the dang o line for years to come.

Do not fall for the defensive player trap, please.
Also, safeties are a dime a dozen. Don't waste a 1st on safety when starters should be able to be found in the mid-rounds. Jonas Sanker and Billy Bowman, for example. Malachi Moore and Kevin Winston. The possibilities are endless.
Even if we have to run it back on the IDL with Hand and Jones, at ILB with Dodson, and Edge opposite Chop with Ogbah, I want long-term OGs early, especially considering the one at 13 is likely to be an eventual OT.

Yeah, I was high on Starks at 13 for a while. But I came back to reality lol

True. But, in fairness, teams has such horrible o line play last couple seasons that they may start focusing more on O line specifically IOL.

THERE are about 12 teams, minimum picking before us at 48 who will most likely dress o line. Some, like the Bears maybe twice.

So it really is a gamble to wait till 48. Sure Milum or Saavinea may be there at 48, but is it really worth passing on the top 4 in hopes 1 will be there at 48?

I wouldn't, but I know some will. We shall see.

I just always worry. Let's say Miami drafts, oh I dunno, Pierce at 13. Then we are sitting there at 48 and because it's a deep defensive class, Amos or Grant/ Harmon are still on the board. Are we confident Miami will pull the trigger on O line? That's the problem with waiting. There will always be a player like Sweat or Nakobe Dean that falls unexpectedly.

That's what I am saving 48 for. I'm drafting my choice at O line at 13, then swooping up the stud Defensive player that falls. In this draft, there will be.
Really good points. I'm not sure how many great OL options will be there at 48, I think the defensive line talent is way deeper than the OL group this year. I think you're right that a borderline first round talent on defense could slip to 48 and that would be great but if we wait on OL, here's what's likely to come off the board in round 1:
Campbell
Banks
Membou
Booker
Zabel
Josh Simmons

Chiefs are picking 31st and need tackles in a bad way so that means Josh Conerly or Jonah Savaiinaea could come off the board

Then you have the teams like the Pats and Titans who passed on OL in round 1 will get their pick of the best guys left in Round 2- Ratledge, Aireontae Ersery, Marcus Mbow, Cam Williams, Donovan Jackson etc. I like my odds of getting a starter a lot better from the first group I listed.

I think there will be a run on OL in the top halves of rounds 1 and 2. If the first round has a run that let's say includes 4 OL in the first 12 picks, it gets pretty dicey for us. I like Zabel a lot but like Membou and Booker more as I think have a better shot of being dominant IOL for us than he does.

I'd love to have the ability to be able to take BPA (Jalon Walker, Pearce or Ty Warren) but unless Miami pulls two really solid FA OL out of their hat this month I think the best course of action is taking a player who can kick ass as a rookie at guard at #13. I think this is the one draft that you have to suspend the idea that there's no value in taking a guard in the first half of round 1.

He won't be there at 13. Too many OL needy teams ahead of us.

We have a lot of holes besides OL.

This narrative that fixing the OL is all that we need is puzzling.

Who is starting at S next year?

What DL do we have under contract ?

We are also kinda thin at TE, RB and WR too

Please please please Miami. This will be the first time, I think ever, I got the pick right. Especially when I called it like 2 months ago.

But that's why I know it won't happen lol.

I keep going back and forth between Membou and Booker though lol.

Bro, seriously, go smoke a bong or something and post it on social media. PLEASE MEMBOU
Dont get too attached to those guys bro.

You know how we roll.

There's no position more important than the QB.

Whether it's Tua or someone else, protecting the QB is 1 million more times more important then any other position. Just ask the Chiefs.

You protect your QB first, then you fix the other holes.

This is a solidly sound plan.

It's what I've been saying for a decade
