Dolphins confident they can find TWO starting guards

Agree! We have enough cap space to spend on one of the top guards. If we get one and then take a conservative approach with the other, I wouldn't scream. But 2 cheap guards? Come on, not again.

We need to break the bank on Zeitler and Leary. Must make the guards a priority. We cannot waist the few years of Ajayi's functional knees that we will get.
A million times yes. Don't even bother drafting them - you can't - give it up. Sign 2 expensive ones - whatever it takes - and be done with it for a few seasons. It's been holding the team back for 20 ****ing years. It's beyond insanity and incompetence at this point. They're so stupid it's almost deliberate. ****ing sick of it. Figure. It. Out.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.... Any good coach can get good play out of average guards. Can they be totally inept like Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner? Who were actually Tackles being converted to guard. But a decent guard can be found for cheap. A good coach can take a rookie LT, and make him above average at Guard in one year (Tunsil). A good coach can lose his starting center, insert a backup in (Brenner) and still produce a respectable offense. A good coach can take a 73 year old Bushrod an make him productive enough to have success on offense. Guard SHOULD NOT be the difference between making the playoffs and not making the playoffs.

Best I can tell, 2 OGs ranking top 10-20 in the NFL would cost ~$13mm. No Zeitler in the group, but get it done. 2 top third OGs would make the OL a top 10 group.

Success will start from the inside out. Make OL and DL the best units on the team and watch what happens. Last FA we were screaming for a quality signing and it looks like we'll be doing it again this year.

The Dolphins have enough cap to sign the big tuna in this FA Guard class, Kevin Zeitler to a cap-friendly deal by guaranteeing the bulk of his contract, plus three more Guards at a lower scale without much gerrymandering; say, Warford, Warmack, and Pazstor, and push our 2016 so-called "starters" onto the bench or to other teams (except Urbick, an excellent backup C), as well as go into the draft not having to draft a single Guard. Which would sure be nice, considering that we don't currently have a 3rd nor a 4th-rounder, and we really *need* so many other positions.
Guard is the cheapest position to secure in free agency (with the exception of all-world guys like Zeitler), and we have the wherewithal to stock up, improve drastically, and finally be able to turn away from "having" to re-stock the OL for a couple-three years. Focus on getting more guys who can play with the ball in their hands (on BOTH sides of the ball), which is how you win championships.

I don't like the idea of spending big money on guards. Great teams shouldn't need to do that. Spend big money on elite game changing players and find quality guards in the draft. Spending a boatload of money on interior linemen is such a dolphins move. Guards shouldn't be hard to find in the middle rounds of the draft.
Yes Miami is showing confidence by basically letting Albert go. They are confident that they can pay the same amount and have more dependency

I really think you've got to nail down one guard spot with someone who has had success. It doesn't need to be one of the top guards on the market demanding $10 million a year, but maybe a middle tier guy. Then I'm okay with drafting one in the middle rounds who can challenge for the other guard spot.

I never understood the thinking of not getting at top tier G in FA. if you are going to overspend on a player in FA, why not make it the cheapest position on the field??? You can "overpay" by a couple million for a G, or overpay by $30M for some other positions. And I'd rather pay for the best G in FA, and fill the other spot with a random player than skimp out and try to get 2 "ok" players at each spot.
