Like a persistent cough, or a recurring dream, the reports of tight end Jeremy Shockey being traded from the Giants just refuse to cease and desist.

The latest report has him shuffling off to Miami to come face to face with Bill Parcells, the guy he called a "****" three years ago. In exchange for this multi-talented headache with two (bad) legs, the Dolphins are said to be contemplating parting with their second-round draft pick.

In any other normal year, that would be the final choice in the first round, but since the New England Patriots engaged in scurrilous behavior that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell termed outrageously bad taste, he penalized them $500,000, penalized head coach Bill Belichick $250,000 and took away the team's first-round pick.

The Giants, by virtue of winning the Super Bowl, thus have the "last" selection in the round, the 31st spot, and if they make the trade they'll have two in a row.

Plausible? Perhaps, but not yet all that believable. The report says the trade can be made as late as draft day.

Definitely not a fan of this move if it were to happen.

why trade 32 for an injured, bad attituded, loud mouth when we can get a quality player for the next 10-15 years? Sure, he is talented, but if we don`t use 32, I hope it is because someone fell in love with a player that fell from 1st rd, and moved up trading with us...

I agree with not trading so high for Shockey but honestly, how many players last 10-15 years in this league? Favre, Marino, Jerry Rice .... Jeff Feagles, some kickers, etc.
The average lifespan in the NFL is something like two or three years.

Shockey is a beast, get err done Tuna...

I'd hold up a bit and try to let them bite on the 64th pick instead of number 32...

look, shockey is an a-hole. a-holes f up teams. its proven. im so sick of this BS. lets give this multi million another oppurtunity to prove he has grown up and changed his ways type BS thats going on in sports these days. if your an a-hole, you cant change it. im an a-hole, and i know it. the diff is shockeys an a-hole but doesnt know it. he wont change. i'll pass.

next rumor plz......

i dont believe it b/c it says their 2nd round pick not the "1st of their 2 2nds like every other report or the 2nd of their 2 2nd round picks. I dont buy into it. no way.

a lot of scouts believe the most talent in this draft is between picks 25-49. If we trade away our #32 i'll be furious.

Shockey has top 10 talent when he is healthy and focused . . . . but with his internal issues and health issues . . . why would we risk a second rounder for Shockey when this is a VERY deep TE class . . . really no ELITE prospects . . . but good SOLID guys from the 2nd round on. You literally can pickup a day 2 guy in rounds 5 and 6 . . . and he can come in and start if need be. This trade would make no sense.
