http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/teamReport?categoryId=67056&type=InsideSlantLike a persistent cough, or a recurring dream, the reports of tight end Jeremy Shockey being traded from the Giants just refuse to cease and desist.
The latest report has him shuffling off to Miami to come face to face with Bill Parcells, the guy he called a "****" three years ago. In exchange for this multi-talented headache with two (bad) legs, the Dolphins are said to be contemplating parting with their second-round draft pick.
In any other normal year, that would be the final choice in the first round, but since the New England Patriots engaged in scurrilous behavior that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell termed outrageously bad taste, he penalized them $500,000, penalized head coach Bill Belichick $250,000 and took away the team's first-round pick.
The Giants, by virtue of winning the Super Bowl, thus have the "last" selection in the round, the 31st spot, and if they make the trade they'll have two in a row.
Plausible? Perhaps, but not yet all that believable. The report says the trade can be made as late as draft day.
Definitely not a fan of this move if it were to happen.
