Dolphins Franchise Tag Landry

Great!

Dolphins got whiff off that robust market, and saw Baltimore smell blood in the waters, and moved accordingly.

great move. step 1. finally this team does something right.
Something right??? You call paying a slot WR 16 mill a year something right? No wonder this team sucks so mcuh. There goes any hope of getting a guard or a TE or anything else pretty much. T-dumb at it again

Landry > Parker.

Parker will be gone after next year.

Dolphins make it official, tag Jarvis Landry

Dolphins assigned the franchise tag to WR Jarvis Landry.

Tuesday was the first day teams were allowed to use their franchise tag. Miami is wasting no time, and this hints the two sides may be close on an extension. If Landry does play 2018 under the franchise tag, he'll be guaranteed roughly $16 million, making him the league's third-highest-paid receiver for the year, behind only Antonio Brown and Dez Bryant. It's a large chunk of change for a slot receiver who didn't crack 1,000 yards last season despite leading the league with 112 catches. Landry's 8.8 YPR average in 2017 ranked 114th of 118 qualified receivers. Landry, however, did score a career-best nine touchdowns, and the Dolphins obviously believe he's capable of replicating that in the future. This could be bad news for DeVante Parker, who has just one year left on his contract with Miami needing to make a decision on his 2019 fifth-year

This can't be the end of the negotiations. This would make no sense.

Ask yourself: does Landry deserve to be the 3rd highest paid receiver in the NFL? This is a terrible decision that will kill our ability to sure up other positions.
Exactly. We just ****ed up any real chance to get help in free agency. Lets just keep on over paying for everyone just like last year. The FO has learn nothing from their mistakes. It's like the nightmare that never ends with this freaking team
