Dolphins Free Agency - Thoughts On What Will Happen?

Your thread asks too many questions. Without a more limited focus, thinks will be murky... but I'm killing time while grilling, so each question, in order.

1. No, we are not technically compliant yet. Likely... a couple players will have their salaries converted to bonuses.

2. Rabbit? No, but resigning Hunt is most likely, protecting Tua is job #1, and such a young player can sign a 5 year contract that spreads out the risk.

3. Dont really care and have given it zero thought.

4. Hunt and bargain Free Agents... a linebacker, safety, and Center, possibly a big RB.

5. Again... Hunt. He's the smart signing. Pissed? Any expensive player, especially a LB.

6. I'm guessing that Tua takes more time.

7. Neither happy or upset. I predicted almost all of this, so it just is. I was very happy with the Jonnu signing. More like that would be great.

Where’s the bet?
these are all the bets the team will be making. should have also asked how many times andyasshs and his doppleganger brogs will go back and forth with each other. over/under 48?

Why are people worried about Miami losing some of their so-called "top" players? It's not like Miami has consistently won playoff games and just lost the Super Bowl; they've won NOTHING. No one on this team has proved themselves to be irreplaceable. Even the great Hill slowed down toward the end of the year (injuries) and dropped a bunch of passes and possible TDs. Wilkins makes a play, and then gets flagged for a dumb penalty, and now wants big bucks. Who cares if he goes? Not one o-lineman is elite, and that includes the broken-down Armstead and Williams, and Hunt. Let's get some young, healthy talent in here.

Just making it make sense

First thread titled “bet”

No wagers discussed - just a weird interview with one’s self

You have a point nobody is irreplaceable
And yes Wilkins makes a play or splash play. But he doesn’t get get dumb penalty’s. Stop making up stuff. Yea he isn’t worth the money because he isn’t Chris jones. But dumb penalties ? Please provide examples.

And these threads . Damn I get you are so unhappy with team. But man I never saw these threads when we had Philbin or gase. Guess those were the good years.

Question, are they even cap compliant yet, or do they need to make more moves over the weekend (cuts, restructures) to have money to spend in FA? If so, what do you think happens?

I ll start here. If you don't know if we are cap compliant yet? Do even know when we have to be cap compliant? Like what date in NFL calendar year? Thats why I have zero tolerance for your constant threads.

I'm most certainly honored to be paired with @andyahs . He is solid and valued member of this site.

You just earned my vote in March madness.

Well played. 🤪
I wish phinsforlife would join march madness. It would nothing but fins mistakes in past..now..and future... I'm sure he would kill it!

@phinsforlife . Have you thought about why your threads end up in the locker? Have you ever checked out the FinHeaven lounge? This place has so many places to enjoy.

I’m taking the over on the 48
as for your point on the title, fair i guess. i used the term in this case because FA is the team making a lot of bets. at any rate i thought it was a pretty benign, non judgemental post that consolidates a lot of things that have been discussed independently into one area. but sadly, the thread probably is already ruined from some of the initial replies as anyone that starts reading them will be taken offtrack or just not want to deal with the nonsense that has nothing to do with discussing football.

at any rate, if it matters, i just changed the title, because i guess the other title wasnt great.

as for taking the over, you are a cheater pants, because those guys are already up to 100. I should have set it at 1,000, but I wanted a number close to something that is an over/under in an actual football game. at any rate, you guys might need an age disclaimer on this website, something that says "you must be 21 or over to enter" like all the pornos and dispensary websites have :)

in answer to some of my own questions, it just dawned on me there might be something goofy going on. i would think it would have been the teams goal to enter fa with some available cap space, and as of now, I believe they are still a fair bit over the cap. so much so, that i am not sure if they can be cap compliant by the start of FA? i wonder if they expected they would be able to re-structure some guys, and the players refused to cooperate? there was a story i saw about ramsey not wanting to restructure. i think tyreek hill is another one that they could restructure? at any rate, one would think they would have this stuff done by now, because it is impossible to plan for FA without knowing how much dry powder you have available. do i have this right? has this happened to other teams before where they go into FA in a non cap-compliant state and are therefore shutout of the action?

if this is the position they are in, i wonder if they do sign tua long term all of the sudden? that is one way to clear some space. i think he is $23mm for next year, so maybe with a new deal they can lower that number by $10mm? maybe they just say we are going to do it at some point, so might as well do it now, because they need the space? the offset to that is they lose negotiating leverage. the other problem is this alone still doesn't get them under the cap, they have to find more?

as far as my expectations, i was thinking that i wont be disappointed and potentially mildly surprised to the upside, since hopefully we know most of the bad news at this point re wilkins and some of the other guys like hunt. ergo my expectations have been appropriately lowered. was hoping we would be able to make some decent complimentary signings akin to jonnu smith for positions like guard/center or linebacker, plus resign AVG. but if somehow we go into FA with no money, and cant sign anyone to fill the holes that have been opened, if i have that right, then i will be pretty bummed and also pissed at grier.

hopefully i am wrong about where things stand with the cap, or if I am right, they resolve some things over the weekend with restructures (incl potential bonus re-allocations) so they have some dry powder available for the start of FA, and the money is used for some of the stuff i talked about
