Dolphins frontrunners for Steelers WR Mike Wallace

What does Mcdaniels make? I have no idea, and Hartline and Gates can't free up much space.
Not sure but I think its quite a bit. I also know some other guys such as Baker and Culver both make over a million Im pretty sure.

wallace also played against legit sec competition...gates played against beer league pretty much...he's raw but you got to realize that the odds on that being the case given where he came from and what he's faced are substantial...heck the fact he saw the field coming from that level comp to the pros last year was a coup

True, but no matter the level of competition it's still put up or shut up IMO

And Cedar your right, I could have swore Gates was 28..

it's not so much what your on the hook for...it's what you eat vs what you free up if you cut them...i'm pretty sure mcdaniel frees up good money if released as does fasano...

if your way short right now your gonna have to cut a significant player to get what you need unless you backload the heck out of the deal and then have to worry about eating a bunch of money against your cap down the road...but really it all comes down to what the guaranteed money is on the extension you sign with the player you trade for...mike wallace i doubt it's south of $20 mil guaranteed

Mike Wallace is worth every penny IMO

And I also don't believe you have to cut Gates either, there's no problem having to guys that run 4.3s as your 2 starting WRs. Nothing wrong at all IMO

i believe gates was 25 when he was drafted...i remember seeing that and thinking he's overaged he'll make it to round 3 at least...that and the level of comp will spook some people

I guess what I meant by that is that he was drafted late, and he's starting out late, but IF he does grow, he'll be just as good or better than Wallace

According to pro-football-reference.com GAtes is 26 turned it in June.

Lol @ trading Long, you guys are nuts. Wallace would be an upgrade but he's not THAT good.

But on the other hand, let's say someone gets him for a 4th. Steelers have a bad luck with WRs. Another santonio Holmes but minus the marijuana

i'm not about to say better...no one scares dbs more with his deep speed than mike wallace...i see guys playing 10 yards off bailing from the snap when matched up against that guy...and him still running right by them...no one eats up db cushions like mike wallace...he's on you in a nanosecond...he ran by a bailing jason allen like he was standing still a few years ago...

i just thinkthat gates in time may provide what we need as far as a vertical presencs that you must account for and must respect...and the kids talented
