Funny is people thinking we're going to be in a position to draft Matt Barkley.

Not funny is people writing off Tannehill as our QB for the future before he even plays a snap for us in preseason.

Honestly, I wish the stereotype of Miami fans was not as accurate as it is. I forgot Barkley ( Captain Dumpoff) was such a cant miss prospect.

I hear this from the homers every year before I'm proven right again and again. Open your eyes, this isn't a playoff team. It's not a .500 team. Why sit here and act like that's not so obvious? Do what I do, hope the young guys show something, anything, instead of the same old nonsensical wishful thinking of a "Cinderella season". That's comical. It's not happening. Once the season ends, you're going to be genuinely shocked that we sucked again... Makes no sense.

if they liked gates as a prospect you might be able to throw him in if they were worried about him being claimed in waivers before he got to them...that said he's gonna have to show some things in the preseason...since we've gone to full pads we haven't heard a peep...that's not good

i do think if gates is cut he'll be claimed off waivers by someone...but that's just me i guess...i have a hard time keeping naanee when i know what his upside is when it's pretty much nothing over gates...

Maybe yes. Maybe no. There is no 100% way to say how either QB will do. So stop I am the smartest person in the room crap. Easy thing in the world to be is a skeptic. By the way, this team can be a .500 team. To say otherwise just show ur agenda.

WOW I so disagree. The more I watch Barkley the more I wonder what everyone sees in him. He has a Chad Pennington arm, and a Mark Sanchez brain. I wouldn't take him with a 2nd rd pick. He is a product of the system, I'm sorry but I just don't see him being more than a NFL backup. RT may be a complete bust or he may be a very good QB, but the upside for Tannehill is miles higher than Barkley IMO.

the upside lies with tannehill the college polish and production lies with barkley...i seriously doubt barkleys a career backup nfl qb...terrific feet terrific placement and accuracy...can throw on the move in the red zone across his body with paste and accuracy...same for on the roll out squares his shoulders to the target...lack of arm strength with him is overrated...it's a solid nfl arm not a cannon but i don't see any throw he can't make...top 10 pick lock in 2013...top 5 pick lock...probably a jaguar unless they go with logan thomas on the upside and tools...don't forget the intangibles either...they're off the charts with barkley

Too predictable. Good job, man. You were right about this team sucking year after year? What do you want? A medal? Gimme a damn break with this "I know better than your homers" BS, man. Same nonsense, different day with some around here. :rolleyes2: It's easy to suck when you have knuckleheads running the team. Newsflash: Sparano and company are no longer running the team!

But keep with that self-defeatist attitude especially when you have NO idea what Philbin or the rest of his staff will bring to this team. So yeah, we may or may not be the best team around talent-wise, but there's no way you can say we're a sub-.500 before preseason even begins.

Remember, we pulled off an 11-5 record even with Sparano on less talent than we've had now. Oh and I guarantee you there was no one predicting what San Fran pulled off last season with a rookie head coach, especially after eight straight seasons of .500 or worse football. Not going to say this will happen to us, but this just proves you can't sit there and predict with such certainly that we're going to be one of the worst teams before the season starts.

Philbin may be unknown but he's clearly much smarter and knowledgeable about the game than what we've had recently as head coach. I have faith in him, you may not, but I feel he's going to lead this team out of it's funk sooner rather than later. There's a new attitude on offense and defense and throughout the team for that matter. Whether it be this season or next remains to be seen, but I'm confident he IS going to lead this franchise in a new direction.
