Do you have any stats for screen plays on 1st and goal? Because Tua’s passing stats inside the 20 are really good. 16 TD’s (9th) and 1 INT, 69 comp% (5th).McDouche throwing screens behind the sticks on 1st and goal might be an area where he can learn or improve
So I found some of the stats.McDouche throwing screens behind the sticks on 1st and goal might be an area where he can learn or improve
So I found some of the stats.
The Dolphins ranked 9th last year in number of screens ran. They were tied 10th in the league with the Texans at passes thrown behind the LoS. Some notable teams ahead of them…. KC, Bills, Detroit, Redskins, and Denver.
The Dolphins failure rate with screen passes was very low. In fact, they were the 2nd more efficient screen passing team in the NFL. PFF gave them a grade of 69.8.My problem with those types of plays, but failure rate.

The Bills attempted 8 more screen plays than the Dolphins. Completed 6% fewer passes, threw for 50% less TD’s from that formation, and gained 1.5 yards less per attempt than the Dolphins. PFF gave them a grade of 63.
KC attempted 12 more screen plays than the Dolphins. Completed 10% fewer passes, scored 0 TD’s, and gained 1.7 yards less per completion. PFF gave them a grade of 60.
The Bucs, who also attempted more screen passes, are the only team that did better than the Dolphins. PFF gave them a grade of 70.3
First of all intelligence isn’t determined by how one speaks...
Miami attempted 105 passes behind the LoS. PFF gave them a grade of 73.1.Interesting. Same is true for passes behind LOS? Any data on sweeps?

The Bills attempted 112 passes behind the LoS. PFF graded them at 70.8.
KC attempted 140 passes behind the LoS. Also a 73.1 grade.
The Dolphins attempted a total of 8 sweeps. 3 to the left and 5 to the right. They had a 4.2 YPA to the right and a 4.0 YPA to the left.
I know I'm an old guy, but my memory is that bad?? I remember a number of sweeps where the RB was tackled shortly after getting the ball.
There were a few of those, too.I know I'm an old guy, but my memory is that bad?? I remember a number of sweeps where the RB was tackled shortly after getting the ball.
I don't know about that.
Outside of literal speech impediments...which I don't think Tua suffers from...our speech absolutely reflects how we conceive of & understand the world around us.
Even among those who study these things, concepts like Sapir-Whorf and Linguistic Relativity suggest that our paradigm is largely reflected in how we speak...and that language absolutely molds our image of reality.
You don't need to be into Wittgenstein to say that lacking an ability to express one's experience, particularly within one's own culture, is probably at least somewhat indicative of a lack of understanding.
Also, Tua isn't from some mystical world of ancient wisdom...he's American. He grew up in and operates within a fundamentally western environment.
I think what people forget is that these are young people we're watching. If Tua has had any issue speaking publicly, it's pretty much in line with his generation...one which isn't yet that old and which is stuck between engaging (in a cagey way) with legacy media (where he's stuck at a podium) and a lived experienced among his day-to-day acquaintances which is much more open & direct.
If you had a horrible relationship with your last boss and your employer has instructed you to basically say nothing, responding to media questions can essentially challenge you to either lie (which most young people don't want to do) or to find some middle-ground...I understand the difficulty in that.
It's why I've said that Tua is fine to have the feelings he does but that he's often too confessional. Some things are better kept in-house. That doesn't meant left unresolved...just not shared with the media. That's where being a professional comes into play.

I wish every person had to experience other cultures for 90 days. I’m not talking about a tourist experience, but rather actually experiencing life as others do. I think perspectives would evolve and the world would be a better place. You’re right, it’s clear you don’t know.
There’s many social disorders like anxiety, ptsd, adhd and autism which all impact speech and communication but have little to no impact on other areas of intelligence.
You even derail any argument you were attempting to make in your second paragraph “that language absolutely molds our image of reality.”
Your image or how you perceive someone has no indication of someone’s intelligence which was my point. That’s just your opinion of some based on what you expect which is largely impacted by your own personal upbringing, culture and what YOU think is intelligence. It’s your opinion, that’s it.
You then continue to go off the rails talking about being brought up western. United States is a melting pot of all different types of cultures and religions all with differing beliefs and norms all which impact how someone acts or communicates. Acting like growing up in a Samaon family and culture like Tua has doesn’t impact everything is wild. If you ever took a millisecond to read about him it’s pretty clear it has a large impact on his entire life. Downplaying that is wild and comical. Even take two people from the same religion from the north east and another from down south and you’ll have two completely different ways of speaking from speed to punctuation and enunciation. You may claim one sounds more intelligent than the other but that’s purely your opinion based on your world and beliefs, not reality.
There’s also no general overall intelligence trait. Everyone’s brain is different and some may excel in certain areas while others do in different areas, doesn’t mean one is more intelligent then another.
I do agree with the second part of your comments in terms of yes these are young people that generally get little to no media training and navigating between growing as a player while balancing a personal life while in the spotlight at all times and having to just learn to always say and do the right things can be difficult.
