Dolphins have 'expectation of mastery' for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa

Huh? So you think it’s more likely they make the playoffs if Tua plays poorly? Lmao
I don't think that's what he's saying at all. He's saying we'd more likely make the playoffs if anybody else played poorly instead of him playing well.

What? He’s played one game. 😂

Josh Allen lost his first playoff game.

Lamar Jackson lost his first two playoff games.

Justin Herbert lost his first 2 playoff games.

Jalen Hurts lost his first playoff game.
You making excuses. This is yr 6. One playoff game ain't ****. If u making 53 million.

He said individual stats don’t count. Only wins count. Well, good individual stats make it more likely to win. And ignoring Tua’s great individual stats and blaming him because the TEAM lost is ignoring the facts.

In the last 3 years, he ended on IR twice and played like dog s*** in his 1 playoff game. That's not on the team, that's on Tua.

Yes, for the 1000th time, his injuries are a major factor.

However, the difference between Mahomes and Tua in that game was one INT. That INT happened so we can’t just throw it out, but I’m trying to illustrate how similar each QB was in that game. Even though it was Tua’s first playoff game and he was playing against a great defense.

Mahomes had his 3rd worst playoff performance of his career. The other two were early on in his career. Objectively, the injuries to the Dolphins and cold affected them. Objectively, the cold also affected Mahomes and KC.

That's not what I meant! My point is that a QB can have great stats in a game, but if they lose that game, those stats don't matter. IOW, it's a team sport, so impressive stats by a QB can be offset by losing a game due to a poor defense or a RB who keeps fumbling for example.

This is the only question that matters in this discussion: Would you rather see Miami win a playoff game or two with Tua as the #10 ranked QB, or see them miss the playoffs or lose in the first round with Tua as the #1 ranked QB?

Not one person here would rather see Tua throw 60 TD’s than win a Super Bowl. However, dismissing a QB that can throw 60 TD’s is crazy because if he’s doing that we’ve got a good shot at playing in the SB. And him leading or being near the top in all major QB stats shows that HE isn’t the problem like so many here like to claim.

You acknowledge his injuries are a major factor/concern, but then say "And ignoring Tua’s great individual stats and blaming him because the TEAM lost is ignoring the facts."

The fact is that in Tua's 5 NFL seasons, he's played a full 17 just once. His injuries have been self-induced and have derailed the team 2 of the last 3 years, so making a claim that you shouldn't blame Tua for the team losing is actually ignoring the facts.

If people here would say, “Tua can’t be counted on and when he’s not playing this team is far worse so I want him gone”… do you know what I’d say? That’s fair… I’m there, too.

But when those people instead say, “Tua sucks”, I’m not going to agree to that.

I was pulling your leg. Tell him Tua's 38-24 and he'll shift it over to only playoff wins counting. You can't win because they'll move the goalposts repeatedly. For some reason, the availability argument's not good enough for them and it's the best argument against Tua somebody can make. He is a winner. And he's more often than not, the reason why we win. But missing a month of games has cut our throat repeatedly.

Arguing that objective indicators (like stats and wins) aren't important should tell everything you need to know about who you're debating.

None of these matter to Tua. Any of these would be a major talking point for any other qb however for Tua it doesn’t matter. Wild stuff.

This means nothing, as playoff wins are more important. IOW, a great number of wins are better than great individual stats. The goal is to reach and win the Super Bowl, but individual stats don't count, only wins in the playoffs matter and help you to reach that goal.
It takes a team to win in the playoffs.

This right here. There shouldn't be any questions about the team's franchise/highest-paid player, but this seems to be the main question asked heading into year 6.
