Not a sip of koolaid passed my lips but 24 is better than 18 no matter how you slice it. If this O doesn't actually get better with the gel factor then it isn't worth a hoot anyway. A wins a win and better is better, I'm ok with that.

That's definitely encouraging. And when we had Moreno running well it looked legitimately good.
But, blowing out the jetlagged Raiders is the reason for our high point total. The Jets offense is back to the clown car mode. The Bills offense is promising, but their QB is so bad he was replaced after 4 games with a guy they brought out of retirement.
The Patriots have the worst WR corps in the division by far and traded Logan Mankins. They always start slow and ramp it up the second half of the year. When they hit their stride they will put up a lot more points.
So, we are only in the lead by 15 points in an unimpressive division.
Still, Lazor's system has manufactured a running game and that's a big deal. Tannehill is make strides learning it and we are seeing production, versatility, more scoring and less predictability. So that is quite nice.
Hopefully we use this bye week to install a couple more packages to get more of the mad scientist offense available for the rest of the season.

Because of the small sample size, the Oakland game skews the numbers. Given our history over the past few years, that game is an anomaly and as we play more games, the positive effect of that anomaly will lessen.
I am a tannehill believer, but the scary thing is that Manuel and tannehills stats this year are eerily similar. I still think RT will get better as the year progresses. I think we can safely say we have the second best qb in the division, maybe best if Brady keeps playing like garbage

Sorry but that's just not going to be possible. In the last 25 years the most points per game increase came between 2007 and 2008
Remember that 2007 season? There was an increase of 78 total points from 2007 to 2008 which amounted to 4.8 pts per game.
The next best increase in the past 25 years was 3.5 pts from 2010 to 2011
If we even improve 3 pts per game over last seasons 19.8 pts per game I'd be very happy

You're only looking at YPA. Look at how the TD's were scored and key 3rd down plays and I think it would tell a different story.
What the average points per game per team and then rank the afce. That's a more credible number
I hate offensive stats like posted before. All of them include garbage time stats so they will never be 100% accurate until someone compiles a stat sheet that subtracts that. I'm definitely a stats guy but you definitely need to see with your eyes as well.
I watched the Around The League review of the Jets/Lions game one of the guys, when discussing the game and Geno, literally started off by saying he didn't see any of the game but judging by Geno's stat line he didn't think Geno played that bad.... prime example of why you can't go off of stats only.

I'm sure some were but I was not among that crowd. At 1-2 this year I felt better than 3-0 last year. Last year we were 3-0 and had been out gained in all three games. That has rarely been done, but the cardinals did it the year before that and they too failed to make the playoffs. This year we have a lot more going for us and I am really starting to see some good signs that this team might be for real. If we can start winning the turnover battle this team has a chance to make some noise.
We are in the top half of the league in both offense and defense, last year at this time we were not in the top 20 in either category. Once we get the rest of the team back we will have the talent to do some damage. Some times though bringing guys back don't work out so well. I think one of the best signs of how well Philbin is running things will be how well we respond getting all the guys back. If we are out of sorts and disorganized after two weeks to get ready, after coming out looking terrible last year after the bye, it will tell a lot about Philbin.

The pats have given up the 4th fewest yards in the league, and the raiders are 20th in the league and have a good pass defense. If not for the yardage we put up vs raiders they would have even higher stats. The reason we didn't more the ball vs the bills was because Shelley was still playing then. Once he got hurt we moved the ball pretty well. Shelley got beat so often in the 1st half of the bills game I believe we would have been better off playing 10 on 11 and just leaving him off the field.

Not to nitpick but that is not accurate information. The raiders played the pats the week before us and flew straight from that game to England. They arrived 4 days before we did. They did not go back to Oakland. We were the jetlagged team and still won.

you realize this team has 12 drops right ? which leads the league, just a quick example, remember that TD by Thomas last week that was negated by penalty ? on the next play sims can't come up with the catch and its intercepted, these 2 plays did cost tannehill 9 QBR points......9 !!!

Many of those drops are caused by Tannehill's inaccuracy. Throwing an unnecessary high bullet on a short pass to Lamar Miller, resulting in a drop. Throwing behind Dion Sims, resulting in a drop & INT.
Plus, the receivers made some amazing catches that helped Tannehill's stats, like Wallace's highlight reel one-handed grab in the endzone.
