It's early, he could suck again but he's having a good camp and looked good in preseason week 1. I don't make proclamations based on preseason but it's better than him looking like 2013 Geno.

Looked good in week 1? He threw 6 passes, completed 4 and all were underneath stuff. He threw a ridiculous desperation heave in an attempt to make a play. You know the kind of bad decision that causes turnovers. He neither looked good or bad. He was there no more.

See post 175 (Itzdick seems to have been hired on the 18th and then hired Marty on the 19th who had been interviewed 6 days beforewith no other action for 6 days) Rex was either instructed to hire him or more likely it was Izdik's first official act on his own.

Idzik’s arrival came on the same day Coach Rex Ryan made the most critical decision of his tenure, choosing Marty Mornhinweg, who spent the previous 10 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, as the team’s offensive coordinator.

I don't get excited positively or negatively but he didn't look like 2013 Geno which is a good step.

I am not sold on geno yet like I was on Mark, a healthy mark and I'd feel great going into this season but Geno is clearly better now than a year ago and he will have much more talent around him.

Whether Marty joined on the same day or a day after Izdik accepted after being interviewed 6 days earlier is too much coincidence to not understand that having Rex finally hire a real OC - and then staying the **** out of his way was a condition for him accepting the job... or maybe giving Marty assurance that he will be calling all the offensive shots b4 Marty accepted. A year after excitedly introducing Sparano as his offensive mini me - if you don't think Rex was told who to hire because Izdik didn't trust his decision-making, then I have a bridge I can sell you cheap!

I'm not impressed with Hickey and this decision adds to it. But I'm willing to acknowledge that it's too soon to judge his work so the jury is still out on Hickey.

But I'm certain Tannenbaum sucks. His track record is rancid. His choices are toxic. Every time he is on NFL Network or another media as a talking head I'm shocked at how little this guy knows nd how poor his analysis is .. consistently.

I'm a fan of tracking metrics. They are useful tools. But Tannenbaum is an idiot, and metrics are garbage in garage out. I want NOTHING TO DO WITH Tannenbaum programming or interpreting any analytics. That almost guarantees we draft like crap.

he had been talking to him for a while

so did Idzik before even interviewing w/ the Jets tell the Jets he wanted Marty? especially since Idzik wasn't the frontrunner at first?

Rex made a mistake in 2012, I understood his thinking. he knew we didn't have the pieces to have a great passing team but we didn't have the pieces to run it either but he quickly corrected it.

I wish that the Jets would rehire Tannenbaum and make Sanchez their quarterback again. When they were both shipped out of town it was like a great sitcom being cancelled. :(

How is the track record "rancid"? you want to question some moves I get it but he built 2 legit SB contenders and probably a 3rd if Favre doesn't sabotage our 2008 season.

we drafted pretty well under Mike, he traded away too many picks for the draftniks but he drafted well. of the 22 starters on the '09 title team only 4 weren't brought in by Mike. same in 2010.

Let's be fair. he wasn't Ron Wolf but he did a good job here.

I certainly wish we had Mark, I'd guarantee a playoff spot w/ him w/ the talent we have(best since 2010) around the QB.

Agreed. As well, i miss the original Junc. The guy who hacked his account just isnt as charismatic. I could always count on the real Junc to give us sophisticated and compelling reasons as to why the Jets are great, this new one is just...angry.

I guess its time to admit that Junc was right when he departed for good: the forum just isnt the same. Tannebuam, Buttfumble, Junc...oh how i mourn for the old days :(

Junc came back to finheaven.

Sanchez did not go back to the Jets.

Oh, what a cruel world.

dont you know mad dog...throwing deathly late into the flats without clarity like that joke did on his like one preseason drive to a receiving option who had given up on the play cause he was covered and the ball should have been long gone like 3 seconds before that is growth...

please someone post a cut up of that listed in the qb 101 book thou shalt not commandments decision...please do...

good old geno...
