He's a better position coach than a DC.
If the reports that Fangio didn’t take input from the defensive coaches during the season are actually true. That may be the reason Campanile might not have wanted to work under Fangio again.
IIRC our new DC was also a run game coordinator with Baltimore.
Does not seem to be a bad hire at all, I like it also.

Some idiots are bashing the hire because he was a bad DC. Chambers is saying as a LB coach he is a great hire, if it would have been as a DC then ya horrible.
Basically Barry is a great LB/position coa h who just wasn't a good DC. But people need to complain about something so.
