Dolphins hope Billy Turner can earn a starting spot at one of the guard spots

if Turner plays left guard he'll have Pouncy and Albert on either side of him so i can see him as the opening day starter there. James starts no question.
Maybe these guys take their lumps early on but in the long run we should have a solid O line going forward.

and should be set through 2015 barring any major injuries or potential suspension...

It would be nice to go into an offseason without having to figure out the o-line

NO doubt we should have a solid Oline going forward.. Will we have a solid line in 2014 is the question.. How long will it take to jell????

Turner is LT not a G and now the Dolphins want to transition a Rookie to a new position as he enter the NFL.. hmmmm Gabe Jackson would have been he better choice here..
Gabe Jackson would have been a terrible choice for us. He can't pull, he can't move. Clearly you don't understand ZBS concepts. Gabe Jackson is even slower than John Jerry.

The point is, If you're Philbin you don't have time for transition. As Rookies it going to take 4-5 games just to think you have a chance at starting.. I like turner, but we need to go deep in the playoffs now! Philbin can't afford RT on his ass..

So the two rookies that started on Chicago's O-line last year day one, on the same side, for a team that gave up 30 sacks and averaged 4.5 yards per carry obviously don't count. Not to mention they had a backup QB for a major portion of the season starting.

Wow.....

Just about every scout has already stated that Turner while yes, he can play OT in a pinch must transition to OG in the NFL to become a true high caliber player.

But hey....what do pro scouts know... :idk:

Yeah, I understand and clearly you're okay with being mediocre ... If you think Turner was the right choice.. Come talk to me mid-season.. The ZBS, lol ask Tanny boy how that's working so far.. Hell, ask anybody how that's working so far..lol No passing game, 60 sacks with no running game... Gotcha!

And your point is???? They have a well coached team, a better GM and better players... What's your point?

That is the question but the good news is we have a couple quality O line coaches (for a change). Both guys should get a ton of snaps between now and the Pats on opening day and with solid coaching it's not unprecedented for two rookies to start and play well sooner than you'd think.
At least i hope so.

I would think this was par for the course. Zack Martin is starting at Guard for the 'Boys too.
