"You couldn't be more wrong. That battle was much more public then the Carter fiasco. I watched T.O. in interviews publically talking about his issues with him. "
What does that have to do with Owens and his teammates?
Owens didn't call any other players out in the media. He didn't get in players faces or create discontent among others.
He publically had issues with his coach and Marriuci did a good job in keeping it between the two of them and not getting the rest of the team involved.
I never said that it wasn't public , I said "He doesn't SEEM to be a team leader therefore it MAY not effect the team as much as Carter or George's situations have. "
Because Carter and George were team leaders it had a larger effect on the team and in Carters case he DID involve other players.
"Then there was that whole thing with him in Dallas and running to the star and spiking the ball there "
That's what started the whole problem to begin with publically, Owens was pissed because Marriucci didn't back him up and Owens was mad because his coach said publically that he was wrong for spiking the ball on the star.
But Owens did not publically involve any teammates, I agree it was more public than Carter but to his teammates it was more of a Player/coach issue not a team issue therefore it may not have effected the teams performance.
I'm not defending Owens actions or his public issues with Marriucci, I'm just saying that it's not comparable to Carter. :)
I gotta admit I thought it was funny seeing him piss off the Cowpolks.
