If we sign James Jones, it means Philbin is dead set on an all out passing offense with little emphasis on the running game... Needless to say, Im not a big fan of this strategy...

I see it as more of an acknowledgement that maybe Brian Hartline isn't a complete receiver and we don't know how Gibson's rehab is going.

If this is true, Jones is the first Packer that Philbin has gone after. There were other opportunities like Jennings last year who went to the Vikings.
I thought that we were set at WR but they must consider Jones adds something. The other possibility is that Philbin is helping an old friend by pushing up the price by appearing interested.

James Jones is a stud, who may come cheaper then he should becaause of being burried behind so many great WRs his whole life. If we could get him for 5 mil a year or less wed be foolish not too. Were one big, catch at the point of attack, WR away from a damn near elite core.

Id be fine goin in with Lamar and DT again if we could get Jones and shore up or O-Line. Then draft a RB mid round.
