Brian Gaine
Omar Khan
Jason Licht
Lake Dawson
Ray Farmer

So if I remember correctly about who the candidates are, only Marc Ross and Tom Gamble will remain to be interviewed. I assume one of them will be in town tomorrow with the other one on Monday. They will probably then narrow the list down to 2-3 and interview those finalists mid week. Very possible we have a GM in place by next Friday.

Oh..and..Khan Im not really psyched about as..we already have Dawn Aponte. If we lost her...then Khan would be a huge get.

You are so right about Gaine. If we were fans of another team searching for a GM Gaine would sound like a very good candidate. Hope we don't bypass him if he is the best option and he goes somewhere else and does great. I just want the best candidate whether it's Gaine or whomever.

at the same time, Albert Breer says that teams are outright refusing to give Bucs permission to talk to candidates and other ones are turning down interview requests because they hate the set up there. While there were questions about our set up we only had one organization tell us no (Saints)
 
well, I hope we have our guy in place no later than tuesday or wend as the senior bowl is very near. Should have our GM before then.

Dawson is not considered a favorite but I wouldn't be surprised if he crushes the interview starts getting some buzz. From what I saw of him in that video Walrus posted, my guess is he'll be prepared (Ross loves this) and will speak Steve's language.

Good point. I am at a point…TRUST BUT VERIFY with Mr. Ross. Nice candidates. Finish the deal.

If Ross would have hired Lake Dawson two years ago, Jeff Fisher might be the coach…lol.
 
A question for you football guys. Any good candidates on the losing teams today that have not been mentioned ?
Any others worth waiting for as the playoffs continue ?

I know we need a GM / OC soon and before the senior bowl but there are only two GM jobs available so far and I believe ours is the most attractive.
If so i'd rather wait and get the right guy.
 
We're not gonna know if we got the right guy for like two years, in all likelihood. Staying with Gaine is bad PR, so he'd have to overcome that right off the bat. The perception would be that Gaine would be Aponte's neutered lapdog like Dorne in Major League II.
