Dolphins-Jets Home Games

I'd keep Herm, obviously Parcells is an all-time great coach but he had his chance here and didn't finish the job. He left a yar too soon and also cost us Belichick b/c BB didn't trust Parcells lurking over his shoulder. I appreciate everything he did in turning us around from laughingstock to one of the better teams in the AFC but that time has past and I am very comfortable w/ Herm and w/ the great assistants Herm has.

He is above average, and could be one of the best going right now, but he is not an all time great or HOF Coach, even though that is the general consensus on him. No HC has been thought of so highly for doing so little....he is a great motivator, maybe he also found a way to hypnotize people into thinking he is great. :D

It hasnn't been like that since the mid 90s when we stunk.

But it has happened. There are way more Dolphin fans in NJ (Where the Jets play), then there are Jets fans in Miami.

All the people who think herm can't coach, besides the W-L record and going to the playoffs almsot every year what about his team always being the best(or top 2) in least penailzed teams? and what about his team always being top 2-3 in turnover ratio? Those are signs of well coached teams and he also kept the team together after a 1-4, 2-5 start in '02 to win the AFC East. He is a very underrated HC.

Not even close, there are so many more Jet fans at Miami which is why the dolphin players just cannot stand the Jets. They hate hearing the "J-E-T-S Jet Jets Jets" at their Stadium.

I think he's a good coach, and may get better, but not exactly great yet. He does have a good knock of getting the most from his players...that is very important for a coach.

The 2nd most popular team in NJ (After the Jets and Giants of course) is the Miami Dolphins (this was in a report I read), the 4th most popular team in Florida (after the Dolphins, Bucs, Jags) was the Jets. At times there are alot of Jets fans in Miami, because many from here in the Tr-state will fly/drive down there.

There have been game where there were almost as many Dolphin fans here in Giants stadium as there were Jets fans, on the other hand, Jets fans have never even come close to having as many as Dolphin fans in Miami.

it's never been close to 50/50 even when we were bad. The dolphon fans were more vocal b/c we stunk but it was never near 50/50. I have been to every Jet home game since 1990 and the '98 Jets at Miami game I went to was by far filled w/ more Jet fans than the Meadowlands has ever been filled w/ dolphin fans.

There are alot of dolphin fans in the NY are as well as Pitt, dal & oak. It goes back to the 70s when those teams were great and the Jets & Giants stunk and those people passed it down to their kids but there aren't anywhere near the amount of Jet & Giant fans and there are more Jet fans down there due to so many NY are people moving down there and that helps to make a large gathering at Pro Player along w/ folks flying down just for the game.

It doesn't really matter. I loved the look on all the NE Pats fans faces as they dragged their ***** out of Dolphins Stadium last December 20. If we win, it doesn't matter if you are the only Dolphin fan in the stadium.

EDIT: I still would like to talk to some people that left that game after NE scored their last TD and put them up by 11. The stands cleared out of Dolphins fans. The ratio then was 1:1 probably of Pats fans to Dolphins fans.

No, I said at times it seemed like there were as many Dolphin fans as jets fans, for it to be 50/50, that would be impossible....I have seen alot of Aqua Marine overpowering the Jet Green many times though.

You have even said that it seems like 30% of the Stadium has been Jets, in one partricular game with the Jets and Miami (Either 99 or 2000), I went to that game with some friends and family members, all you could see was Dolphin Fans (I am sure there were just more Jets fans scattered) But in that game, at the very least, there had to be an almost close distribution of fans. I would have to say that the percentage at that game was in the 40s....all I could see was Dolphin fans.

With as violent as Jets fans seem to get when they drink (One of my friends got a bottle to the head, another got punched in the face, and a third saw someone throw beer on his wife), there are many Dolphin fans that are chosing not to go.

Very true, but even with all the Jets fans retiring down there, the amount of Dolphin fans that are in NJ is amazing...there are Sports bars here in NJ that are dedicated to the Dolphins, when Shula's opened here in NJ, I was lucky enough to be one of the VIP guests, and the amount of people I met outside, was amazing.

I've been to a bunch of Miami-Jet games in Miami..never in NJ...All I can say is that there are a TON of Jet fans in Miami for those games...Most are transplants that live here. Yes they are obnoxious and I HATE that stupid chant of theirs, but for the most part, they are good fans that love their team. Also, I have never seen a fight that a Jet fan went out of their way to start...they usually start because some drunk a-hole Fin fan decides to throw things at them. The Bucs also travel well and so do the Steelers. NE fans just started to show up in masses since they became good...prior to that, you couldn't give away a Dolphin-NE ticket.

True. That was amazing game.

Feidler's a PUNK

Nobody should care what Feidler has to say about the Dolphins. Not even with the best running game in the NFL could he manage to lead this team to a victory past the wild card game. Sure coach Winny has to take his fare share of the blame but Fiedler is not a starting QB. He wasted years of great defences, and running games. I'm glad he was traded within the division, this will give us a chance to stomp him one day. It would be great to see JT or Zack light him up and cause one of his many FUMBLES. On Jets fans coming to Dolphins games. Every year there's more and more, if this keeps up we're going to need a bigger stadium just so Dolfans can watch the games.:fire:

No but w/ a medicore running game and no receivers in '00 he managed to lead you to your only division title in the past decade and past the WC rd.

1.Fiedler did his best for the Phins and it wasn't enough. That doesn't make him a punk.
