Dolphins l Might Have Interest In Re-Signing WR David Boston

Adding that we added a lot of depth for WR, should we re-sign David Boston?

Top pick Allen eager to get started
May 1
Miami Herald (registration required): "The agent for first-round pick Jason Allen said Sunday he has no problem getting a contract signed before the slotting system's foundation is completely laid this year... Frankel, who also represents David Boston, said he spoke with Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller two weeks ago and was told the team might have an interest in re-signing the receiver."

Adding to this that we have added a lot of depth for WR should we re-sign him

Why not bring Dave back in for camp if he has the desire? He's not going to make the team unless something miraculous has happened with the knees, but it's not like it will cost Miami anything other than a little bit of Wayne's money.

That was before we drafted 2 WR's. Almost zero chance of this happening.

This is a BIG if, but if he is healthy the guy is a monster WR.

Thats what I thought, but I was afraid of posting it, I though I could probably would be banned if I post that...

I mean the guy is a 1st rounder, somethings gotta got (if he is healthy)...

He is out of options. Worst case hes a camp body best case we have a productive reciever. What would it hurt?

I think he'll be better in 2006 than he was in 2005. That's why I objected to his presence on the roster in 2005. He was still fresh off the latest injury in 2005. In 2006 he's had some more time to work his rehab magic (remember one of the benefits of being a workout warrior is you rehab extremely well).

If Devin Aromashodu looks overwhelmed he may get stashed on the psquad and that would IMO open the door for Boston to make the roster. Devin's a better psquad player than Fred Gibson. Much nicer guy too.

Who do we have now? Chambers and Booker, Welker...Kelly Campbell...Hagan...Aromashodu...and then Boston? Well, considering Kelly Campbell spent 2005 out of football I doubt we should just hand him a roster spot without competition.

I don't know...I just don't see this happening. Especially now that Boston just had more surgery to "clean out" both his knees. I know it's a somewhat routine surgery players have, but it might scare off some people.

Give it up guys.He is not the same player anymore. He ruined his body with the bodybuilding and the supplements.

He has been a bench rider since he got here .I would rather spend a roster spot on someone who can stay on the field. But its Sabans call.

I don't have much hope for the guy anymore either, and I was once a very large supporter of his. But the risk we have taken on him have been minimal at best, and we never invested much in him in the first place. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing what he can do in mini-camp, you can never have too much talent.

:yeahthat:

It certaily wouldn't hurt to see what he's got this year... if nothing, then he's nothing more than training camp fodder, if he's still got something, then why not let him contribute on the cheap?

I see no problem with bringing him to camp.

I would like to see him do something here. :fh: might as well see how he looks, you never know.
